Test Drive #7 - Ten Forward and Captain's Yacht

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...





Option 02. The Captain's Yacht: Oooh, you sneaky stowaway! You've found yourself in a very exclusive part of the ship: Captain Picard's personal craft, used for short jaunts when a shuttle just won't do. (One must retain some decorum, after all.) It may not be as large as the Enterprise itself, but there are sure to be some surprises aboard once people start snooping.


[OOC: The Captain's Yacht is located at the very base of the Enterprise's saucer portion, so if you put someone in there you can also play them trying to get back to somewhere they know!]

Shadowhunters are used to what mundanes would think of as weird and after spending time around Magnus' friends, it takes a lot to shock him. Still, a centaur is unusual, especially one that doesn't seem to realize she's in a basically human bar.

Reaching for the table, he manages to steady it while avoiding those potentially dangerous hooves. "Hey... Careful." Alec keeps his tone soft, filled with brotherly concern and reassurance. "You don't want to get hurt." Once the table is upright again, Alec steps away, running a hand through his hair. "I'm not sure what sorcerer did it, but they've done it to a few of us."

The human's tone works: she startles, a little, at the sound of his voice, but the gentleness means she doesn't actually move away. Her hooves clatter and her tail flicks, but most of her movement is when she swivels her torso to look at him.

"Thank you," she says, cautiously. She's still frightenedoff-balance enough that one of her ears remains facing behind her, but the other flicks forward to face him.

"Oh. Well. Actually, I can't tell if that's reassuring or not."

Alec's gaze flickers from those hooves up to the centaur's eyes, not wanting to get trampled accidentally because he wasn't paying attention. It might not be a form he's used to but he's dealt with his sister enough to keep calm during an 'I'm not afraid but I really am' episode. "You're welcome."

Giving her a small smile, he keeps his hands out so that he won't look threatening, knowing how most Downworlders react to Shadowhunters. "It means we're not alone. I know my - uh - sorcerer did this but we might be able to find someone who knows what's going on."

"That would be a really great idea," Roshanak says, her smile swift and tight. "Has this happened before, do you know? Do we get sent back?"

Pause.

"Where are we?"

He probably should say something more reassuring but he doesn't want to lie. "I've had similar things happen but there was always a spell cast before I ended up somewhere else. I know my friends will try to find us." She might not be one of his group but they wouldn't leave someone behind.

When he's sure that she isn't going to panic, he begins to look around. Nothing looks familiar even if it looks like some of the clubs Simon had dragged them to. "I don't know. It's not anyplace I've been before."

"Mine, too," she says. "Although I'm not sure how well anyone can find this, this isn't magic I'm familiar with. This is fairytale magic. A djinn, maybe, but their magic always tastes a bit like fire, and..."

She frowns, and then catches sight of the window.

"What...?"

"My - " Alec pauses, realizing that until he knows more about where they're from and the being he was abducted with, he shouldn't mention some aspects of his life. "My friend has studied magic for a long time. Even if it's not familiar, he'll figure it out. He won't leave us here."

Although he begins to wonder if it will be possible for Magnus to find him once he follows her gaze toward the window. Outside it looks like the backdrop to a sci fi movie. "Are those stars?"
