Flirting was always a way to break the ice unless there was imminent danger involved. Flirting with a new political ambassador was bad, complimenting the blacksmith on his mustache while haggling was not so bad. And Savil wasn't in the grave yet so she still enjoyed the view of a well-made man.
That rank was at least familiar to Savil at the slight relaxation in her eyes showed. But that shield wasn't coming down until he put the thing in his hands away. "We seem to be on a very strange metal city floating in space. Some of the people say it's a ship but I have yet to see any water. Something is pulling people here from different places and so far nobody knows how or why." Savil shrugged and brushed a strand of hair from her face. "Most of them are in the lounge behind me. Some are upset, some are excited, about the usual blend of reactions to the unfamiliar."
