"Wait," she says, a hand darting out to grab his arm--and revealing her telekinesis can make her hover, too, given her foot is seven or so inches above the floor, balancing her as she reaches. There are a dozen impulses that play out over her face before she bites her lip and sinks down to stand on her own.

"I didn't mean it like that." She never means it like that, but she doesn't know how else to say what she means. Entertainment, to her, is not like a petulant bored child with an inanimate toy; it's too rare for that and the ability to make her forget about everything that keeps her awake at night is too precious.
