OOC Dance Party!

We made it through another week, everybody! I don't know about you, but mine was really exhausting, and I'm in the mood for some unwinding and celebrating.

So let's have a party.

Drop a comment in here. It can be you personally OOCly, it can be one of your characters. You can do yourself and each of your characters--anything you want.

If so inclined, post a video that reflects your/the character's current state. This is a dance party, after all.

If you're doing one for yourself: introduce yourself again, now that we've had a little time to thread together since the last meet & greet, and since we've got some new folks coming in this app cycle. New people, come on in and say hi! We're pretty friendly. How was your week? Working on anything interesting? (I know a lot of folks here are working on costumes for Dragon*Con...) Share whatever you feel like sharing.

Butch Cassidy i_got_vision, Loki scarred_grin, Sigyn home_fires_burning, Pyrrha pyrrha_pandora, the lovely Mireille Adler mirabile_mireille whose journal name I should've made less of a finger-twister to type and when work hasn't eaten my brain, your friendly neighborhood Q trial_never_ends.

This week I learned that accidentally inhaling toner dust is a bad thing, and was the only person manning two different departments, so I am tired. This weekend I'm hoping to get started on my Brucolac costume (from China Miéville's The Scar) because damn, embroidery's gonna take forever.

You know what? This is an excellent idea. John is 500% behind this idea. He would also like to compliment you on your excellent taste in music.

John's time aboard the Enterprise has been GREAT. It's still not Earth, and he's learning to chain down his enthusiasm like that really excitable yard dog who just wants to jump on all the people, but otherwise he rates this space hotel 5 stars.

Mireille's coping as well as can be expected. Being in a completely new place is actually helping her deal with the being-widowed thing, but there's only so often she can wipe imaginary dust off the furniture in the common area and still tell herself she's being productive. Also, damn does she want to get new clothes that aren't quite as oppressive as her current Victorian outfit. She's used to the '50s, and being able to see her shins.

People are so nice, though. She likes that.

Pyrrha wants to know who the hell packed her suitcase for her. Electric equipment she can't use without some adapter solution she doesn't have; a SkyMall catalog she can't order from, because it was issued centuries ago; a bottle-opener--really? Couldn't give her one of her favorite books? A charger for her mp3 player (that she wouldn't be able to plug in anyway)?

But she's doing fine. Even if her baby Egil is weirdly into licking the glowing surfaces of the tables in Ten Forward. Whatever that's about.

I am Jen, also skyfell on Plurk or zellyb on Twitter if that's your jam, and I am going to be joining this game real soon, if all goes well!

It was the amazing and wonderful Mod Gabby who got me completely immersed in Ten Forward. Seriously, it did not take much arm pulling to get me here. I'd been meaning to get back into RP after a looong hiatus. And with a few familiar faces (Hi Amanda! Hi Laura!), it's been an absolute delight to take part in something like this again.

I am still making some decisions on who I'm apping, but I've got Rory Williams (Doctor Who) and Rose Tyler (Doctor Who) pretty much set. Rose has been making some noise in the test thread, and I have a Peter Pevensie (Chronicles of Narnia) in the test thread as well.

I'm still considering a couple of others (including a younger, vaguely AU-James Bond), but ... we'll see!

All day I've been listening to big-band/vocal jazz. So my only offerings for this dance party are some classy jams. Such as this lovely tune.

Sigyn's having a fantastic time, but really, you could put her anywhere and it would be such an improvement over pretty much the entire rest of her life. She's not doing as well as Loki is at the pretend-to-be-human thing but she doesn't care.

And now that they've had some time to get reacquainted, it's time for her to start in on her own work: picking up strays.

Butch is enjoying things, generally--it's a nice place, it's clean, it's safe. But he is worried, and pretending that he isn't (for Mireille's benefit) is starting to wear him down a bit. She looks to him for answers he doesn't have, and he can't lie to her. But hey, you can get decent bourbon here.

It is fantastic to be alive again and--seriously, have you looked around? On a starship! Really, really far from Earth! Good luck grabbing hold of this guy, Fate who happens to be stuck back on Earth!

Yeah, now that he's settled in and gotten a feel for the place, there's probably some harmless mayhem on the way. Keeps life interesting.

Billy is interested in all the new people he's meeting and the brief glimpses of tech he's seen, but he really wants to start learning things. He's intrigued by the new Ranger in town, worried about his BFF Adam, and also worried about hiding their weirdo powers. This is gonna be a stressful trip, but he is trying to stay positive!

As far as dancing up in this joint, you up for some hot stuff?

Hi! I'm JK, and I'm here because I'm friends with Amanda and RP buddies with Laura. :) I've been playing in a pretty quiet tiny game for the last few years, so it might take me a bit to get back into the swing, but I'm planning to app at least one character this round!

That's me in the test drive thread with Jonas Quinn (Stargate: SG-1) and Jack Harkness (Torchwood) who just showed up and DEMANDED to play. So ... hi!

I'm from Australia and work full time and study part time, so if I'm sometimes slowtime, that's why! It's not lack of love or interest, promise! <3

*waves* Hi, this is Ash (a.k.a. ashen_key); locale, Australia, but given I'm currently unemployed and not studying, my hours are weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird. Weird, but full of job-applications, which is v. sad. Woe.

And this is Natasha Romanoff! MCU, just pre-CA2, co-current with Steve, Clint, and I think Sharon. She has been...being vaguely friendly in the background. Watching things. Trying to piece together information. Not worry about her bestie Clint too obviously. Trying not to geek out too much BECAUSE AHHH, STAR TREK, AHHHH. Probably at the stage of would actually kill someone for a book or something to do, oops.

This app cycle, I'm planning on apping Gaila | writes_with_digital_ink, Uhura's Orion roommate from nuTrek. Because GAILA. ADORABLE ORION TECHIE. ALL THE WORLDBUILDING FOR MEEEEE (which, Trek-muns! I'll be putting up a post for how I'm handling Orions and alternate timelines if she's approved so you guys know what's up.) And because she's GENUINELY nice and sweet, she'll be a nice switch up from Natasha's edges. Admittedly I'll be bringing her a bit dramatically, and she'll be a bit shakey to start with. But hey, Trek. Needs moar aliens.
