The last few minutes had been so hectic for Artemis Fowl. In fact the last few days or even years could be said to be never ending, never ceasing, never boring. He had even realised his eyes were closed until he opened them. But what he saw, was not what he expected to see.
He was in a bar.
Looking around with his mismatched eyes, he took in every detail he could. The round tables, the double doors, the long large window looking out into the stars. Where on Earth was he? Or was he even on Earth?
His mind finally caught up with him and he did a self check as Butler had always told him. Everything checked out and he finally moved from the spot where he had been standing. Trying, and failing, to look inconspicuous, he moved around the room inspecting everything he could and learning what he could without actually talking to someone. This was new territory. He had to tread carefully. Especially as he was alone.
