Steve knew that there were different dimensions. SHIELD had extensive files on the subject and Tony had been more than willing to teach someone to hack if they were willing to learn and could keep up with his snark. It hadn't hurt that it was SHIELD that Steve periodically hacked. But the idea of different versions of reality wasn't something he'd considered. That was something out of science fiction novels.

As she reached out for his hand, he couldn't help hoping that maybe he was wrong and she was the Peggy he knew, but she wouldn't have stopped like that. Not unless their superiors were around or they were on a mission.

"I'll do what I can to help." Even if she wasn't Peggy, he couldn't refuse. "I was an artist too before the war. I'm not sure what you need me to say. I don't know about the Steve you knew." That had to be one of the strangest things he'd ever said. "I was an artist before I enlisted. I fought in the war as an agent with the SSR. I lost my girl when a mission went wrong. Most of what's happened to me is classified."
