Greetings, everyone!

All apps have officially been processed, and we at Ten Forward want to give a warm welcome to all our November & December apps. It's been a busy winter, and we're so excited to have you all with us. We're all looking forward to playing with you and getting to know you, and we the mods are here as always to answer any questions you may have. Consider this rolling out the official welcome mat! Below is some helpful info, and this space can also be used to meet, mingle, plot CR, and update other players on who you play and where their Intros are.

• Intros/OPs: Your Opening Post can be where and when you prefer, as long as it isn't in a restricted area (ie: the bridge, engineering, crew operations). If you'd rather tag someone else's post to establish your entrance, that's totally allowed. The standard setup is to be winked into Ten Forward by Q, but if you need special arrangements—such as an immediate Sickbay visit—leave a comment letting us know.
  
  
• Life On Board: Your characters' first few days on the ship will involve a lax quarantine to guest quarters, Ten Forward, and the lifts/hallways between the two only. The medical staff will need to see them to clear them of disease and log their bio reading for future medical attention. Afterwards, they'll be assigned more permanent quarters and a roommate (unless there's a reason they cannot room with someone else), and be able to wander the civilian areas of the ship more freely.
  
  
• Sickbay: On Monday here in the Eastern US, we will post an open sickbay log to play out any new character's checkups (as well as facilitate any plot, such as asking Dr. Crusher if you can volunteer to help), but it is not required if you would prefer to handwave your character checking out and getting the all clear from the docs aboard. If your character has any special medical conditions, let us know. If you have any other requests, leave a comment. Once your character has been cleared medically, they'll be released from the initial quarantine (of Ten Forward and the guest quarters only), assigned permanent rooms, and allowed to move more freely around the ship. Restricted areas are, of course, still off-limits (such as the bridge, engine rooms, conference rooms, etc). This is especially open to all November and December applicants, but should anyone need to visit Sickbay remember it is OTA!
  
  
• Rooms: We will be assigning all new characters a room and a roommate by random draw. This means if you have special requirements or considerations, you should leave a request in a comment HERE with your character journal. Some examples would be: if your character has a spouse or SO they would prefer to be roomed with; your character is unable to share quarters because of their physiology/temperament; and the like. If you're bringing in a high-ranking Starfleet officer, you may be assigned VIP quarters. IC, the Enterprise crew would be sure any important officers would have the best rooms, but OOC we don't want you to miss out on building CR with another character, so all officers will automatically be treated the same as other characters unless you tell us otherwise.
  
  At this time, we're also shuffling up some of the rooms who have lost a roommate due to a character drop, gained a significant other or family member through a late app, or need a reassignment for any other reason. We do this approximately quarterly as new characters shuffle in and old ones shuffle out. If you would like to switch up your rooming situation, drop us a line and let us know. We'll either put your character into the random hat and pair them up with a new roomie by dice roll, or if you have a special consideration like those listed above we'll take them into account. Shuffling is totally optional, so if you don't make a request to do so then you will stay right where you are, no muss no fuss. We'll post an OOC list of characters getting roommate assignments early next week, and an IC Roommate Mixer will go up next weekend so all characters can meet and mingle.
  
  
• Plot/CR: December's plotting meme is located here, or you may leave a comment directly to this post if you're looking for any particular plots or CR for your character. We also have a special Holiday Event Post that just went live earlier today. Tag around other people's requests and make some new connections.
  
  
• Join/Update the OOC Cast list: If you're new to the game or you have recently changed your character roster, visit the Contact Post to let us know who you play and what the best means of getting in touch with you are. This post is locked to members of the OOC community, and it is entirely optional if you would rather not post your information anywhere. Please note: if you're not comfortable with giving out certain info (like e-mail addresses or SNs) but still want to be represented, not all fields are mandatory. Leave any fields blank if you don't want that information public, and post what you're comfortable with. Nobody's privacy will be compromised.

I'd love to play out the examination with anyone who has experience with changelings or other shapeshifters, as he already battles one set of prejudices at home and I'd like for him to get an idea of what prejudices he'll face onboard.

Hey all! It's been a while since I got my act together to post in a meet and greet :) I'm Kara and I play Trance Gemini heartofasun and Telemachus Rhade not_gaheris from Andromeda. You all might notice the same actor plays Gaheris Rhade, whose new here :) That'd be Telemachus great, great great great grandpa. He's a genetic reincarnation, so feel free to mention that they look EXACTLY the same. It's totally canon.

I also play Ezri Dax pronounsarehard and Gul Dukatblind_arrogance from Star Trek Deep Space Nine and lastly Andros awol_redranger from Power Rangers in Space.

Oh, and in case anyone can see it, Trance is a walking, talking sentient sun. Her body is totally not real.

Hi everyone!

I'm Ash, one of the Australian contingent. Studying librarian-shaped-things so periodically I vanish in a haze of assignments. I play Gaila | writes_with_digital_ink from ST:AOS and Natasha Romanoff | fallaces_sunt from MCU (with some bonus ideas from the comics). No one else as yet, although the temptation to continue with the redhead theme is strong.

Not on plurk as I'm trying to avoid another social media thing (although, hey, I may end up caving) but am around on AIM as lamorgne.

Natasha isn't back in game just yet (SOON, THOUGH. SOON) but Gaila is around and she badly needs things (or people!) to do. So I'm up for pretty much anything :D

Hi folks!

I've hit most of the intro posts so far but the more intros the better! Hi, I'm JK (ashavah | ashavah). I'm Australian, so my hours are a bit weird. But I wanna play with people it's going to be great!

I have this boy here, Dylan Hunt from Andromeda. i.e. The best friend and captain Gaheris Rhade betrayed later in his canon. He's from after Gaheris' betrayal. Anyone who manages to meet both of them wearing their full uniforms (Dylan doesn't wear his jacket often but he does sometimes) will doubtless notice a similarity.

I also have Jack Harkness (captgreatcoat) from Whoniverse, Simon Tam (osirian_doctor) from Firefly, and Jonas Quinn (a_quick_study) from Stargate: SG-1.

I have been having a tough time lately and am slowly getting back into things but I am usually always up for things, so feel free to hit me up on plurk or on a character's contact post or here.

Howdy! I'm GW, with just my newb here, Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite. He's grumpy, shoot-y, and imbued with superpowers. I love plot, and playing, and mostly just being around! I'm in Central Time, and play all over the clock.

I was just thinking that Booker might need a quick Sickbay visit. While he has been in Neptune and Portland, in neither place did he get immunized against more modern diseases, or against letting out ones from his time, the late nineteenth century. So, mayhap he would need that, and quickly, before he passes, or gets infected by, something. In addition to this, he was exposed to drugs that have and are still mutating his genetics, and are the cause of his super powers. So that might be something that could be addressed there as well.

I'm Li, and this is Hidemitsu Akechi, better known as Samanosuke, from Onimusha. He hails from 16th Century Japan with a brief stint in 21st Century France (timetravel shennanigans ftw), wears a gauntlet that has a blinking eye on it, and transforms into a purple ogre when he gets angry absorbs the souls of his enemies. As for myself, I hail from today (Central Standard Time), and am usually around Monday-Wednesday, or weekend afternoons! I'm in the middle of my work week so please forgive the scatterbrainedness.

Hi guys! I'm Amber. This round I have brought you one Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3 Portable. Short version: she's a Japanese high school student with special summoning powers who is both trying to make up for terrible deeds committed by some members of her family in the past and trying to save the world from certain destruction. She has just come from a point in her canon in which she and her friends have been told the world is going to end and there's nothing they can do about it. (They're going to try to do something about it anyway.) She's probably a little too serious, and has never really had a chance to be an actual teenager (the latter, at least, I would like to try to do something about). I have never played her before, so I'm going to have to ask for your patience as I get the hang of writing her.

- Irian t'Aumne [aehallh], my Romulan OC, who is basically an AU of an AU (the plot of Star Trek Online crossed over with the Romulan world/history/culture-building of Diane Duane's Rihannsu novels)

I'm Dray, also drayma. I am brand new to the game! I'm bringing you end-of-DS9's Worf, who should be fun to try to reacclimatize.

I'll be tossing up a first post either today or tomorrow if anybody wants to hit it up for holiday shenanigans or building new CR. A few characters already know him in game, but I'm open to all kinds of CR, cross-canon and cast-based.

...I may need to spread out some of the IC intros, as I'm feeling a little overwhelmed trying to plot and plan with everyone all at once right now! X3 If we have discussed some CR plans and I don't leap on them right away, please always feel comfortable poking me with threads you were wondering about snagging Worf for. If they're business (security, rooming, escorting people away from danger or jerks) I'll jump in ASAP. In other cases I'll come back and poke you about any old plotting things to make sure that your character's still in the zone for Worf-nanigans. I'll always letcha know where I stand with tag-ins and generally I like to wrap threads up ICly rather than letting them drop if things get slow, so I'll backtag as long as necessary to make a scene feel complete, and so long as we're still having fun.

May also ask you OOCly from time to time if you mind wrapping a thread up, for exactly the same raeson. If you like to play differently than that, I'm cool with it, too. :D

In any case feel free to poke me with any plots or ideas! I'm accumulating them for evil purposes. >:]<

Basically Belle is coming in from an unstable standpoint after getting hit with a spell from her canon and Spock is coming in at the very end of Into Darkness where they embark on the 5 year mission. 8U They're both smart idiots and I love them and we should plot together. hiiii oldbies, and welcome newbies!

my name's jen (though we do have another jen here, so I also go by 'zelly' if it suits you; gdi i'm gonna just blend my name into jenly from now on i think) and i play the following losers: peter 'derp' parker from the amazing spider-man who is totally not spider-man what are you talking about; the ever charming and friendly ray of sunshine, rose tyler from doctor who; part-time nurse, part-time roman centurion, full-time dork, rory pond williams (also from doctor who); and detective john 'i love ramen and i hate you' kennex from almost human, who is actually a huge softie pretending to be a grump and has some anger management issues, drug abuse problems, and a fake leg.

so just a quick 'this is what they're up to' if and when you want to have some cr with my folks. (and please please don't hesitate to contact me through any of my means, to follow, to talk about having our people meet up and build some cr.)

rory williams works in the sickbay, so he's available on and off the clock for all your medical needs. he's got a fantastic bedside manner, is a total sweetie (just ask his wife, amy!) and is an incredible secrets keeper and listener. so basically he's your go-to guy if you ever need someone to talk to. he's currently mulling around the ship and/or attached to his wife's side, but he's easily snaggable.

peter parker is hanging around being a bit mopey and quickly catching cabin fever. there's a high probability that this is only going to result in teenagers being teenagers, causing antics to stave off boredom. plus, he's a superhero and there's nothing here to hero over, and that just sucks. so if you want to get into any kind of mischief or to get your angst on, peter is your guy.

rose tyler came with the doctor (10) and so she's more or less hanging around him, all while trying to mingle with people new and old on the ship, because that's what she does (and also maybe they could all somehow start pooling their collective skills and information together to get off this ship???). and when she's not hanging around the doctor, or socializing, she's probably in a corner somewhere laughing her ass off because captain jack harkness is charming and adorable and they have a million and one inside jokes that you probably won't get.

john kennex is probably my least active at the moment, which is totally my fault (ugh), but he's learned how replicators work so he's all set for synthetic ramen all day and all night. plus it's free, so ffffff ... it could be worse. he does miss his partner, dorian (but he won't EVER admit that and good luck trying to get him to) and he also misses bossing people around and being a licensed asshole, so if he gets short with you it's because he's just making sure he doesn't get too rusty for when he gets back home. currently he's got a deal of sorts with noriko ashida to keep his synthetic leg charged because he was abducted to this ship without time to pack a bag.

I suppose I can't introduce myself too much, so I'm Claire. You can find me at ClaireforGally and I play Chang, from Star Trek VI.

He has spent more than a year as a prisoner onboard a ship with crazy shenanigans. Been turned into a human more than once (about which he has been fairly ambivalent, though he didn't mind being changed into a hot shot, pregnant district attorney), been made younger and met alternate Kirk and Spock from AOS, turned into an animal, so he's going to be pretty blasé about a lot of weirdness.

He found meeting the alternates pretty boring (it's not as satisfying trolling people who don't know your shared history, apparently), so if your character has Barge!History with him, he'll be unlikely to seek them out.

Here's a list of people onboard who he has 'experience with':

Gaheris Rhade: Fortunately, Binky was the player in question, so I don't have tell her how this CR went. It won't affect his opinion of his descendent beyond a mild sort of curiosity.
Rose Tyler: Didn't leave much of an impression and didn't interact beyond Chang knowing she was there. Impression was Caring Earth Girl. So obviously he'd avoided her.
Spock: Obviously Chang knows him, but didn't really speak to him much beyond 'yes, I know you exist' . He had already established that it wasn't as satisfying annoying someone he didn't actually meet, so there was no CR as such.
Seven of Nine: I played her, so they didn't speak. But hey he probably has little problem with her and respects her forth-rightness.

Heya! I'm Kris, and I'm adding a genetically engineered asshole to our Trek cast! Khan is the former (deposed) ruler of a quarter of the Earth, forced into exile in cryogenic sleep, and was revived two hundred years later to serve Starfleet's covert-ops division under duress. Because of this he's understandably less than friendly with the Federation.

I'm always down for plotting out shenanigans with Khan - he's likely to stir up a lot of trouble, so I'm totally cool with negative CR! If you ever want to plot, I'm krispani on plurk, and I look forward to playing with you all!
