Rooming Assignments & Shuffling

Happy Friday (or early Saturday morning), Ten Forward! Our latest list of rooming assignments for November and December is going up shortly. All new applicants from this period will be assigned to a room with a roommate, unless your character has special considerations (such as an in-game significant other or family member they need to be roomed with, or a temperament/physiology that requires them to room alone).

At this time, we're also shuffling up some of the rooms who have lost a roommate due to a character drop, gained a significant other or family member through a late app, or need a reassignment for any other reason. We'll do this approximately quarterly to three times a year as new characters shuffle in and old ones shuffle out. If you would like to switch up your rooming situation, this post is your last chance to drop us a line and let us know. We'll either put your character into the random hat and pair them up with a new roomie by dice roll, or if you have a special consideration like those listed above we'll take them into account.

Shuffling is totally optional, so if you don't make a request to do so then you will stay right where you are, no muss no fuss. To reduce confusion, below the cut is a list of everyone who's being assigned a roommate this period OR who may be switching rooms. If your character isn't on the list and you think they should be, just let us know!

Notes:
To the players of Worf and Pulaski: since both of your characters have or at one time had crew quarters, they are entitled to them again sans roommate like the rest of the TNG crew. If you would rather they were assigned to the guest quarters and given a roommate, please let us know!
To the players of Khan and General Chang: the mods are tempted to assign your characters as roommates on the security level, since we imagine they will be frequent cell mates. Does this make us horrible people?: check Yes or No. ;)
To Toothiana's player: since Toothiana can only be seen by those who believe, would you like her to be roomless much like Jack Frost currently is? Or, perhaps, would the two Guardians like to be placed together, given this special circumstance?

Please note all given names as they appear above will be how they appear on the IC roommate list, unless you tell us otherwise. Therefore Mitsuru Kirijo will show up as "Mitsuru Kirijo", Domino/Neena Thurman will show up as "Neena Thurman", and so on. If any other name should be represented, let us know at your earliest convenience.

We'll have a finalized list posted this evening, but if we have overlooked anything, adjustments can continue to be made until the IC roommate mixer goes up. If you see any glaring errors or omissions, just let us know. Starfleet officers may be given VIP quarters, but they still get a roommate unless otherwise specified. Our master list of rooms and roommates is located here.

ETA: And the dice have spoken! We've paired everyone together and assigned them rooms. Because we had an odd number of characters this month, Toothiana will get a roomie assignment from next month's apps unless we are told otherwise. If there are any questions or errors, let us know.

ETA2: Toothiana and Jack Frost will be paired together in a room, which will be reflected on our OOC Rooming List but not on our IC one, since the two Guardians are invisible to most people. Since, sadly, Ashley Hammond had to drop from the game, Chekov will be getting a private room this round and will receive a roommate from January's apps.

As far as Chang is concerned, he would be delighted. He will play the innocent while increasingly riling up Khan because he is just so uptight, man. I think he'd like to find out if an Augment can spontaneously combust from frustration.

I would like Henry to be switched for more CR purposes but only after I canon move him. Is that possible or does it have to happen now and then the canon move?

We'll be doing another rooming shuffle probably in March, if you wanted to wait until Henry has a chance to go through more canon first.

I can clear this with Pumpkin if need be, but I was wondering if it was possible for Belle to stay with Gold in his room? Without moving Jonas out? Given she's his wife, I doubt they'd have problems sharing the bed, or is it too small for that? (and if it is, how much trouble would Gold get into for making it a bit larger?) depending on mod permission to do so of course

We have no problem with making that happen, given they are a married couple!

The beds in each room typically vary from approximately twin-sized to full-sized, depending on how nice the rooms are. Since these are their guest quarters, full-sized is probably the safer bet, which should be large enough for two people to share comfortably. If Gold is planning on making adjustments regardless, well, so long as it doesn't affect the rest of the ship he shouldn't get into any trouble. We did say rooms could be customized to feel more homey, after all. Anything outrageously opulent might get him some arched eyebrows, though. :)

Remember that the cabins are a finite space, so if you stuff a California King mattress in there you might not be able to move around!

Not until Sunday! A Room Mixer typically looks a little like this, so security will make the official announcement and the list will be public IC. This gives everyone a few days to let us know if we made any mistakes before the list is final.

The new characters share guest quarters on the same level (Deck 7), which are a number of private rooms connected to one large common room they can share. This is our 'quarantine' area, until they're moved to their official lodgings, which they keep as long as they're in the game unless they change rooms later on.
