OOC Dance Party!
We made it through another week, everybody! I don't know about you, but mine was really exhausting, and I'm in the mood for some unwinding and celebrating.
So let's have a party.
Drop a comment in here. It can be you personally OOCly, it can be one of your characters. You can do yourself and each of your characters--anything you want.
If so inclined, post a video that reflects your/the character's current state. This is a dance party, after all.
If you're doing one for yourself: introduce yourself again, now that we've had a little time to thread together since the last meet & greet, and since we've got some new folks coming in this app cycle. New people, come on in and say hi! We're pretty friendly. How was your week? Working on anything interesting? (I know a lot of folks here are working on costumes for Dragon*Con...) Share whatever you feel like sharing.
If you're doing one for a character: how's their time aboard the Enterprise been so far? What are they up to?
Show each other some love! You are made of stardust and awesome and don't you forget it. IC, OOC, anything you want. Let's have some glorious chaos up in here. Party's open all weekend.

whose journal name I should've made less of a finger-twister to typeand when work hasn't eaten my brain, your friendly neighborhood QThis week I learned that accidentally inhaling toner dust is a bad thing, and was the only person manning two different departments, so I am tired. This weekend I'm hoping to get started on my Brucolac costume (from China Miéville's The Scar) because damn, embroidery's gonna take forever.
And I can't get my video to embed so here. Glenn Miller - Song of the Volga Boatmen

John's time aboard the Enterprise has been GREAT. It's still not Earth, and he's learning to chain down his enthusiasm like that really excitable yard dog who just wants to jump on all the people, but otherwise he rates this space hotel 5 stars.
Music he can contribute to the dance party:
Montefiori Cocktail, "Star Wars Theme (Spaghetti Western Version)" This is pretty much John's theme song for all of season one, before it's ousted by...
Andrew Bird, "A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left" This will forever be my theme song for John. Forever.
(Also, hi! I'm Gabby! I'll do another post in a bit with more of my characters and a better introduction, John just heard FRIDAY and DANCE PARTY and could not resist.)

John may be getting dragged off to holodeck-karaoke at some future point whether he likes it or not
probably especially if he doesn't
no subject
OH MY GOD, CAN THAT BE AN ACTUAL THING?
John would SO be down. Aeryn, on the other hand, would think they were both farbotz.

I think it needs to be, now! Thaaaat's getting made into a holodeck program.
Sigyn watches in amusement, and suggests maybe this time skipping Bohemian Rhapsody.

SACRILEGE! YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH FREDDIE MERCURY.no subject
People are so nice, though. She likes that.
She's bringing a slow dance: Billie Holiday - I'll Be Seeing You.

But she's doing fine. Even if her baby Egil is weirdly into licking the glowing surfaces of the tables in Ten Forward. Whatever that's about.
And she is dancing (terribly) to Depeche Mode - Happiest Girl

I am Jen, also
It was the amazing and wonderful Mod Gabby who got me completely immersed in Ten Forward. Seriously, it did not take much arm pulling to get me here. I'd been meaning to get back into RP after a looong hiatus. And with a few familiar faces (Hi Amanda! Hi Laura!), it's been an absolute delight to take part in something like this again.
I am still making some decisions on who I'm apping, but I've got Rory Williams (Doctor Who) and Rose Tyler (Doctor Who) pretty much set. Rose has been making some noise in the test thread, and I have a Peter Pevensie (Chronicles of Narnia) in the test thread as well.
I'm still considering a couple of others (including a younger, vaguely AU-James Bond), but ... we'll see!
All day I've been listening to big-band/vocal jazz. So my only offerings for this dance party are some classy jams. Such as this lovely tune.

That Mod Gabby is a bad influence, let me tell you. One minute you're going along minding your own business, and the next minute you're knee-deep in shenanigans.
Excellent choice in characters, and in music also!

But I'm glad to be here, so.
Thank you! :D

And now that they've had some time to get reacquainted, it's time for her to start in on her own work: picking up strays.
Can't go wrong with the incomparable Nina Simone - Wild is the Wind.

He's brought along The Duhks - You Don't See It.
no subject
Yeah, now that he's settled in and gotten a feel for the place, there's probably some harmless mayhem on the way. Keeps life interesting.
And it's almost always Queen - Seven Seas of Rhye.

As far as dancing up in this joint, you up for some hot stuff?
(This is an excellent representation of his awkward dancing)

Hi! I'm JK, and I'm here because I'm friends with Amanda and RP buddies with Laura. :) I've been playing in a pretty quiet tiny game for the last few years, so it might take me a bit to get back into the swing, but I'm planning to app at least one character this round!
That's me in the test drive thread with Jonas Quinn (Stargate: SG-1) and Jack Harkness (Torchwood) who just showed up and DEMANDED to play. So ... hi!
I'm from Australia and work full time and study part time, so if I'm sometimes slowtime, that's why! It's not lack of love or interest, promise! <3

Re: *switches journals for :D icon*
Hiiii, so good to meet you! I was super excited when I saw there was a Natasha here!
Re: *switches journals for :D icon*
And looking forward to Jonas and Ianto. All the sci-fi peeps.

Re: *switches journals for :D icon*
And yessss, she's trying SO HARD. In. Certain areas. I kinda feel she needs a warning on her sometimes 'HEAD'S UP, SHE IS REALLY TERRIBLE AND A CON-ARTIST', but she's so much fun.

And this is Natasha Romanoff! MCU, just pre-CA2, co-current with Steve, Clint, and I think Sharon. She has been...being vaguely friendly in the background. Watching things. Trying to piece together information.
Not worry about her bestie Clint too obviously. Trying not to geek out too much BECAUSE AHHH, STAR TREK, AHHHH. Probably at the stage of would actually kill someone for a book or something to do, oops. This app cycle, I'm planning on apping Gaila |

(In another life, she would have made a perfectly happy academic *pats her head* Lots of study. Papers to write. Colleagues to argue with. Scaring tiny students. It would have been great, thanks, NKVD/KGB.)
