ten_fwd_ooc | TEST DRIVE #3 - Alien Bazaar/Ten Forward

Option 001. Alien planet, marketplace: So you're new to this whole space travel thing. The ship is cool and all, but there are hundreds of alien worlds out there. You want to explore. To see what the universe REALLY looks like.

Well, here's your chance! Your first stop is this lovely indoor marketplace, which looks kind of like a mall. There are stalls one after the other as far as the eye can see, and they sell all kinds of things: food, clothes, trinkets, animals, fabrics, jewelry, perfumes, books, etc etc. Some things look human, easy to recognize; other things look very alien. There are two levels, and constant chatter as people hawk their wares and discuss prices.

Do you want to explore? Poke at the weird shops? Buy a gift for a new friend? Flirt with someone at the food court? Maybe you see a pickpocket, and must run to the aid of the victim. Maybe there's some other villainy afoot. After all, a crowded marketplace is a good place for villains to lurk, causing trouble. Whether you're a hero or just an unassuming traveler, there proves to be some adventure for you on this planet.

Option 002. Aboard the Enterprise, Ten Forward: You have no idea what just happened. One minute you were home, and now you're on a spaceship, in the middle of a crowded room. It looks like a bar. There are people eating and drinking, some in uniform, others not. Some are clearly aliens.

You've managed to land in Ten Forward a long bar with barstools and a bartender, tables sprinkled throughout, and the far wall is nothing but windows out to space. It looks like a nice lounge, low conversation making the room hum.

Better ask some questions and find out where you are, or just tap the closest person on the shoulder and try to make friends. The bar is open.

Haruto wasn't kidding when he described this kid as 'excitable'. He wasn't sure he liked the concept of a high school Kamen Rider, but then again, he wasn't that much younger than Philip.

"Ah, maybe I should bring something back for Akiko..." He said, as though it was the first time he'd thought of it. Assuming Q would let them take it at all. That was the only way she'd ever believe him, anyway.

Gentaro couldn't help but overhear someone talking to himself too, and when he looked over to see who it was his grin grew even wider.

"Akiko is one of your buddies, right? Does she like space too?"

He glanced over at Gentaro. "Probably not as much as your friend does. But if I don't bring back some kind of evidence, Philip and I are in for a hell of a slipper beating."

What did she like though? Something cute, he supposed.

"You mean she wouldn't believe you?" He actually looked shocked at the notion.

He shrugged. "Oh, she would. She'd just be mad we disappeared when there were open cases." Open cases meant unsolved cases, which meant no fees to collect, which makes a sad Akiko.

But he grinned. "There's no such thing as a vacation for a detective."

"Man, she sounds kind of harsh." He mumbled, looking a bit unsure. Maybe she was just the one to keep people in line like Miu. It made a lot more sense when he thought of it that way.

"I think I get what you mean. I guess there's no vacation for Kamen Riders either."

He shook his head. "She's great at keeping the Agency running, though. She's tough like her old man was."

He chuckled a little at that comment. "That's for sure. There's more work out here in distant galaxies for a Kamen Rider than for a detective from the 21st century."

"I definitely wanna meet her someday! You'll introduce us, right?" Gentaro's previous doubtful expression was already long gone, and instead he seemed stoked about the idea of meeting one of Shotaro's friends.

"That's why I'm here! People always say two heads are better than one, so imagine what we could do with four Riders at once!" It would probably be awesome.

"Sure! She'd be happy to meet another Rider." Once she was done beating him with her slipper.

Awesome indeed, though none of the Riders here were any he'd worked with before. "Four? Is Eiji here?" He hadn't seen him yet. And a guy that tall tended to stand out.

"Then we'll be buddies for sure!" He smiled, banging his fist to his chest and pointing off to nowhere in particular in his signature friendship pose. At the mention of Eiji, though, he was obviously confused.

"Does that mean you haven't met Ryuusei yet?" He asked.

He couldn't help but shake his head while smiling at Gentaro's enthusiasm. That pompadour reminded him of when he was in school. He never had one, but one of his fellow trouble-makers did.

He shook his head. "No, I don't think so. What's he look like?" The name didn't ring any bells, but he never forgot a face.

"Well, he wears his school uniform a lot. He's got brown hair styled sort of like yours, and he looks super grumpy most of the time. Oh, and he's way shorter than me." For not giving the most flattering description he sure looked proud of himself.

Sure, he's seen a kid like that wandering around here. Of course, he's shorter than you, Gentaro, you're a goddamn beanpole. "That kid's a Rider too?"

"You bet! Have you heard of Kamen Rider Meteor? That's Ryuusei. He's a really cool guy, so I know you'd get along." It didn't really cross his mind that Ryuusei may not have wanted him to reveal his identity like that.

Out of nowhere he looked like he had thought of something super important, but it definitely had nothing to do with his friend's privacy.

"Hey, with the four of us we could start our own Kamen Rider Space Club!" He pumped his fists in the air, much more excited at the thought than a normal person should be. "That way we could meet up and talk about important Rider stuff. What do you think, Shotaro?!"

Don't break his heart, Sho.

He shook his head. "No, I haven't. I guess we don't get around as much as Decade." Double was not the passing-through Rider.

"Kamen Rider Space Club?" What the hell kind of crazy thing was that. "I got out of high school a long time ago." By a 'long time' he meant 4 years, but who was going to split hairs?

"If something comes up we need more than one Rider for I'll probably send one of the gadgets to get you... I don't think we need a club for that."

Unfortunately for the older Rider, none of what he said did a thing to deter him.

"Ah, I think I get it. You gotta look cool by resisting at first, right?" He mused, a smug smile on his face.

But maybe there was one person who could convince him...

"I'll just have to go recruit Philip!" He proclaimed loudly, peering side to side to see past Shotaro. He had to be somewhere nearby, didn't he?

He spluttered a little. "I don't have to try to look cool." He adjusted his hat on his head a little. No, in fact, the problem was that he tried too hard.

Philip had probably gotten distracted by something down some aisle and gotten left behind. "Hey! That's a low blow!" he shouted. Why was it so easy to slip back into old habits around this kid?

Gentaro was already more than ten feet away by the time Shotaro yelled at him. The shouting was all the confirmation he needed that his plan would work, so he turned and shot Shotaro a thumbs up before diving into a random stall to look for Double's second half.

Philip had, indeed, gotten distracted by something and walked off. There was this very interesting stall selling clothing woven from some kind of alien sheep fur, and he was investigating it intently.

When he heard footsteps he looked up. "Gentaro Kisaragi, look at this! Have you ever seen anything like this material before?"
