Food for Thought! (and stuff)
[My food for thought this week is a banana-avocado smoothie. Tasty!]
[So my bosses have been playing Highlander with layoffs, and I'm now the entirety of two departments, plus half of a third, and a third of a fourth; two of these departments are brain-intensive, so when combined with health problems made worse by stress, you have a recipe for being unable to muster the brain to tag.
I haven't forgotten anybody. I'm just scattered like a handful of rotini bounced off a kitchen wall, and slow like if you write the word slow in big letters on an 8.5x11" sheet of paper and tear off a little corner of the page--that tiny corner represents my fractional speed. I mean, slow.
At the same time, one of my writerly idols is aware that there are folks planning costumes of some of his characters for Dragon*Con this year so you know, no pressure or anything, I just might want to get started so it doesn't suck. At least it doesn't take brain, just repetitive manual work... and energy.]
tl;dr so! Questions I have for you.
1. Have you seen Pixeltrek? More bathrooms on the Enterprise than they ever show on TV.
2. Anybody else voting on the Hugo awards, or at least has seen enough Game of Thrones and/or Orphan Black to offer an opinion on the short-form dramatic presentation slate? I don't have the context to judge based on two random episodes, or the time to binge-watch to get that context.
3. and, anybody else going to Dragon*Con this year (I know the answer to this one is yes) and interested in doing a meetup? I'd offer to bring snacks for it, but my luggage is gonna be full...
and not a question: I am stoked about the upcoming plot. ^__^

And alas a total no for 2. and 3. though I'll be enviously watching the fun folks are having at D*C from here in Australia!
[we're thinking good thoughts for you!]

[thanks! It's amazing what a difference a day off makes, heh.]

[oh man, do I know that feeling]
Wrong journal, but still Amanda
2. Oh, wow. That is such a hard toss-up. Both of those as smashingly awesome for highly different reasons and I would cheer hard to have either of them win. I've been reading/watching both of those from their beginning basically.
3. Me, me, me, me! This is my 6th or 7th year! (And Laura is in my room, too!) I am so completely interested in doing a meetup (or a dinner, or a watching party with pizza's one evening, or everything and anything anyone could come up with). And, also, we could totally grocery shop in Atlanta for snacks for the meetup? We totally do that with the hotel rooms every year, too, so that paying for food meals is not a hassel or a thing that has to happen except for splurging.
(Though for splurging I would suggest either Trader Joe's [for fantastic drinks] or the sushi place on the corner whose name is evading me right now.)
Eeeeeeeeeee plot! So excited! Me TOO

Not the wrong journal, but an excuse to use the wrong princess icon

Dragon*Con Question For Those Who Say Yes
And is anyone else going to be there on Wednesday?

(I'm not exactly sure what hotel we're in yet, though)

Speaking of, since I'll be arriving at Dragon*Con by vehicle again, I can always bring snacks for a meetup/party. ^__^ The real question is whether I will bring any costumes this year. Tick tock on the deadline to get something finished in time (I really want a stellar Farscape costume to commemorate the 15th anniversary, but makeup is expensive man). Also, I'm totally bringing spiced peaches for the cowboy picnic, Sasha.
ETA: Also Dragon*Con related: If anyone is looking for roommates to cut hotel expenses, I have a friend who has lost her rooming arrangements and is flailing to find somewhere to stay for the Con this year. She's neat, nice, quiet, a perfect roommate, and pocket-sized for your convenience. She's reluctant to post to the rooming comm, so if anyone has space for another please let me know!

We're doing Redneck Thor & Loki again this year, so I will at least have red solo cups to bring to the meetup ^_^ alas, my rice krispie treat Oreos are all broken... and most of them eaten.
if I can help with any costume stuff, you just let me know! I have plenty of things on hand.

(I still haven't been able to find those Oreos! Alas, I'll just have to imagine what they taste like, along with the Ben & Jerry's cannoli ice cream I can't find either.)
I will! I bow to your costuming skills, so I'd definitely love to get your input sometime. ^__^

Anybody you'd want to be would be awesome! Since Chris's costume is so much flannel (and my horns are well-balanced but still kinda heavy) we only do those at night, so it doesn't have to be all-day comfortable. ^_^

I'd probably lean toward Cap myself, or maybe a Redneck Sif. ~strokes chin~ I'll have to ponder my closet and look at some screencaps, and see what comes together.
