I've been called a large number of things before. Smart ass is one of them. Also: Interloper, Fool, The Oncoming Storm...

And there is also my name, itself. The Doctor is another thing I'm called.

Not knowing when to quit is quite the nasty habit of mine. I would have stopped many a problem.

Well, for myself, I am Gallifreyan. Humans call us dominus temporus. We have far more in common genetically with lizards and reptiles biologically than we do with our apes, although we externally are almost the same. We are bicardial and have denser muscle tissue and bone, meaning we are a bit heavier than you but much more durable. What would be a fatal fall for you would be a nasty but walkable one for me. And then we get to the regenerations, which means should we sustain fatal attacks we can regenerate ourselves up to twelve times, meaning we have effectively 13 lives.

Does that explain the difference.
