I'll let underage drinking slide, but if you're about to tell me you and your ragtag group of friends go around stealing purses off old ladies and killing people, that's where I draw the line.

How exactly are you a mutant anyway? I don't see any tails or extraneous digits on your fingers. No third eye, or third leg.

Is it something more internal? Carefully crafted DNA?

It's called electrokinesis. It also means I make one hell of a battery charger. My cell phone never dies.

Or, you know, anything else electrical.

This thing, it's useless when it's half-charged. Even less so when it's down to its last ten percent.

What I wouldn't give to keep it charged indefinitely.

[ For one, it'd stop reminding him that his leg is a synthetic because his real one was blown off on a betrayal disguised as a botched mission. ]

[ She beckons him closer with an amused roll of her eyes, and gesture to his leg. ] You want me to take a look at it? I built these gauntlets, I might be able to improve your battery life. Or you can just come find me and let me feel you up when you need a charge, your call.

[ Nori doesn't say it as a come-on; it's just her humor, and it's brassy at best. ]

Although, you know, I'm a little curious to see how it works.

I put my hand on your leg, channel electricity to its battery, and stand back up. Essentially. Sure, it works faster if I have direct access to the charge port, but it's not strictly necessary.

The small things aren't usually all that showy.

That doesn't sound too ... weird.

[ He pulls up the right pant of his trousers, revealing the synthetic leg, a greyish translucent limb with its circuitry constantly adapting to every minute motion Kennex makes. ]

Wanna give it a go now? It probably won't need much of a charge, as I'd done it just this morning ... but without a proper charger, it's going to become pretty obsolete in a matter of 24 hours. 36 at best.

[ She crouches down, obviously comfortable with the way these things go, and considers his leg, laying her fingertips against it. ]

Now, I'm assuming this casing is not a Faraday Cage, in which case we will have a slight problem, but it doesn't seem like it is one. And man, we can definitely improve on a 24-hour battery life. Shit, my cell phone has a better one than that.

When you're on the go from 8 until 10, sometimes 11 in the night ... yeaaah, it wears down on the power. Maybe if I was working a desk job, it'd last a little longer.

My partner recently got me a new leg, but I didn't have a chance to test it out before this goddamned ship abducted me. So, it's old model or bust.
