TEST DRIVE #1 - Ten Forward

You know how you were standing there, back in your home world, just minding your own business?

Time to forget all about that.

Instead of doing whatever the heck you were just doing, you're standing in the middle of this very stylish, sedate barroom. Happily, you're not alone there - in fact you're surrounded by people who seem to be as confused as you are...and some of them look a little, well unusual

Now would be a great time to do....well, something. Ask some questions of the person nearest you, throw a fit, stage a coup....maybe do a little exploring? No matter what you do, you're going to be here for a very long time.

For others might call it the USS Enterprise, but for the foreseeable future, you'll be calling it home.

He watches Pavel work with the PADD in brooding silence. It seems to work fine, but that doesn't mean the information isn't malfunctioning. But who was he to know that? Medical technology was nice, but damn the computer system and it's intricacies.

And Pavel had a point. It definitely didn't seem to be their Enterprise. But that seemed hard to believe. "Alright, if that damn thing is accurate, how the hell did we just magically plop a hundred years into the future on a new version of the Enterprise?"

"Zat," Pavel says, shaking his head, "I do not know. I do not think anyone does here. Zey all seem as confused to hawe us aboard as ve are to be here."

Which is not in the least comforting, but hey. Bones is here. Between the two of them, they should be able to figure something out. (If Spock were here the Vulcan probably would have done so already. Chekov's not sure whatever he said would be helpful, not really, but he'd have the knowledge anyway.]

I'm filling out an application now. :D

"Great. That's reassuring." That wasn't reassuring. Anything but, as a matter of fact. But that didn't matter - they were here. They'd have to find a way out at some point, but that was for later. For now, they needed to find out if there were others from their crew here.

"Does that thing tell you who got pulled into this damn place?"

You totally just made my day hearing that!

"Eh, nyet," he says regretfully, laying it down. "I do not know who else is aboard. Zere are many people here zat do not seem to understand ze vorkings of space trawel."

Yay! Now if we could get the rest of the crew that would be awesome!

Leonard sighed. Okay. They would have to try and see if they could fnd the rest of their crew the old fashioned way.

"Is the layout of this Enterprise the same, or do we have to learn a new damn map over again?"

There's a genderbent Kirk around, you should tag her! She's good.

"It does seem to be close to ze same," he replies. "Vhich is...encouraging."

I can't find her main post. Sad! ;^;

"Yeah, encouraging." He doesn't sound happy though.

Leonard got up from his seat. "Maybe the rest of the crew is here and just checking the damn ship. You searching with me or not?"

D: All the sadface. I highly recommend messaging the mun. The more the merrier?

Pavel's brows shoot up at that, and he glances at the door, and back to Bones.

"You think zey are here? Eweryone else seems to be in zis room, doctor..."

Ahh, I don't know. I really don't want to force someone into something they don't want. D:

"You honestly think that Jim's gonna stay in here if someone tells him he's not the captain of the damn Enterprise anymore?"

He's not trying to sound rude, Chekov. Not really. He's just mad at the situation.

"Nyet," he says, brows raising. "But I do not know vhere else he vould go. Maybe ze bridge?" he asks. It seems the logical place for their illustrious captain to end up, given how he seemed magnetically pulled there in the first place.

"You zhink ve are allowed to leawe?"

The bridge. Yeah, that seemed like the place Jim would run to if someone told him that he wasn't the captain. Leonard got up from his seat.

"Only one way to find out."

He headed for the door, hoping Chekov would follow.

Of course Chekov follows, muttering to himself in Russian as he trails along after the doctor. He knows better than to seriously upset the man--given how grumpy he can be on a good day--and even if he has to jog he'll keep up.

"Doctor McCoy, do you know how ze ship is laid out already?"

They make it pretty quickly at his pace and he stops in the hallway briefly before turning to Chekov, an eyebrow quirked up.

"The ship's got a different layout than ours?"
