TEST DRIVE #5 - Low Gravity Gymnasium and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprises' off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...

Option 02. Aboard the Enterprise, The Low-Gravity Gymnasium: The gym is a large room with several alcove-like sections housing the aerobics and martial arts areas, a parrises squares area, an anbo-jyutsu court, and a separate fencing room. While there is normally a zero-gravity area as well, today all of the gym is in zero-gravity conditions.

Zero-gravity can be, well, kind of weird, because it's not like a gradual loss of the pressure holding you to the floor--you may have taken the turbolifts, just expecting to take a leisurely run, or maybe work out with a treadmill to get in some cardio, but the minute you step into the gym you're floating, as is anything you might have been holding or bringing with you.

Do you freak out, start flailing and trying to swim through the air back to where you can escape? Do you make the best of it and tough it out to get your exercise in, or do you start having fun with the sudden game of weightlessness? Pick your personal scenario and have fun with all the other weightless people.

Though some people might be upset or unsettled or even angry at being whisked away from home to some unknown location, Rose certainly isn't. Oh, of course, there had been the initial unsettling feelings of displacement and confusion as she wandered her way around the Enterprise. However, that only lasted until she found the gym.

Now? For Rose, this is literally the best day ever. Zero-gravity is the actual coolest thing and alleviates all her worries in an instant ( at least temporarily ). Despite the curious glances of onlookers, the blond is doing mid-air flips and other acrobatic moves all the while giggling like a girl on an amusement park ride. People might even hear the occasional self-made sound effects like 'whoosh' as she floats on by.

Space is so awesome.

It isn't that Steve didn't believe in the Tooth Fairy growing up, but like most myths that provide gifts and wealth for children -- Saint Nick, The Easter Bunny, and so on -- it's hard to keep the dream alive when money is hard to come by. Sarah could scrimp for a few extra pennies to put under his pillow, but it wasn't always easy, and when he got old enough to realize what was happening he told her to stop, to put it toward something important.

He's still the kind of man who would believe in the power of clicking his heels together, clapping to save a fairy, or thinking happy thoughts, but he's also a practical man. Objective, and analytical. So Toothiana goes unnoticed, invisible to his eyes. He'll feel bad about that later.

He's perched at a table with a pad of paper, idly sketching things he sees around the room. He doesn't know why, but his eyes keep straying to the door, as if he expects someone to arrive or appear. It's like he's missing something, and he can't figure out what it is.

Well now, this was a bit unexpected. It's been centuries since The Doctor has had to deal with this level of weightlessness, and there was always something so very freeing about free floating. But this was totally expected of the situation, as this was what the gymnasium was set up for.

The rather large flora-man that appeared almost dead in front of him? That was the unexpected bit.

"Whoa there, pardon me," The Doctor says, managing to adjust himself enough to not hit the new arrival. "Hope that wasn't too jarring, my fine florid friend. So, you are Groot, eh? I'm The Doctor. One of a set of two here, on this Good Ship Enterprise."

No, no, not magic. And Noriko has never been--and very likely never will be--magical in any way save for certain assumptions drawn from Arthur C. Clarke.

"Ah, well. At least that one I've got some experience with," she says. "Don't worry about it. I did something similar but less impressive when I got stuffed in here too. Just...understand that yes this is kidnapping, but I promise most of us aren't going to hurt you. We got stuck here too." And no, she is not from space originally.

"Nice name," she chuckles. "And yours?"

Shark was certainly not the feline she was expecting to see. "Well, hello," she coos, crouching down to give the cat a friendly scratch herself. If Shark is here then that means Akito and Agito can't be too far behind.

Her guess is right. As soon as violet eyes land on Akito, she's smiling wide. "Akito! Oh, I'm so glad to see you." In the blink of an eye, she's up close and instinctively checking him over. Good. He looks alright. "Where are we?" He might not know, she has as an afterthought, but he's the first person she's familiar enough with to ask right out. He's also the first person on this ship she knows can see her.

Even though she's hanging back there are people coming and going. She finally speaks up in an attempt at communication. "Sir-" she tries but the man walking by doesn't so much as glance her way. "Ma'am-" starts another attempt but this time she's literally walked through.

So, that settles it then. These people - these adults - can't see her. After Adstringendum and having all eyes on her regularly, it's definitely going to be an adjustment. Shark the cat saunters up and gives the Sister of Flight a friendly meow. Despite having pet him already, he's insistent in having even more attention.

So, without a second thought, Toothiana scoops the feline up in her arms who purrs contentedly.

Mouse is obviously a very friendly dog. Andrew keeps fighting off the urge to laugh. He should be used to dog kisses given the fact Bernie gives them out pretty regular tongue baths. Andrew has gotten used to it. Besides, he often gets to curl up with a dog so this really is totally normal.

Andrew just seems very relaxed now. He glances up through his bangs that probably need a decent trim at Harry.

"Really?" A wizard. That's a little different. "Neat!"

Of course it's neat. Magic is neat. "Sometimes...."

Andrew's expression goes a little distant. A little sad because he misses his uncle. "Sometimes my Uncle John encounters weird things on his cases. He's a police detective."

Molly stuck her tongue out at Harry. Sometimes being the student just stucked. And since she wasn't around her parents, she was allowed to say that. Or think it. Her parents would probably flip if they knew all the things she thought about. Her nose scrunched up and she frowned.

"You're no fun." But she couldn't let the Star Trek thing just go. The scowl melted away and she grinned and jumped up and down a bit like a child. "I KNOW! I'm so excited. It feels like I'm actually there. Now before you say anything, it's the 21st century. I'm allowed to like both."

And with that she scrunched up her face in concentration, waved her hands a bit and disappeared, remembering factor in the smoke this time too.

"He's not here," Annabeth says, so relieved to see Percy that she doesn't even bother to hide that fact through the sudden release of tension in her shoulders and the smile that plays upon her lips, reaching her eyes.

She knows he's thinking of Mr D, because that had been her first thought when she was winked here too, only a few days before him.

(Which started the cabin fever and the worry and the frantic attempt at figuring some way off this ship.)

"You're late, Seaweedbrain."

Steve drops his pencil.

He's familiar with Shark the Cat. Even if the feline hasn't been aboard that long, he's made himself pretty comfortable with following Steve into his quarters and trotting after him for treats and pets. Steve's gotten used to seeing him, but he's never seen him float before.

"Jumping Jehoshaphat," he murmurs, blinking at the sight. "Uh, Shark? Kitty-kitty?"

He clicks his tongue to get the cat's attention, but he doesn't look like he's in distress. He actually looks pretty content, and the closer Steve looks he can see indentations in his fur, as if something is holding him.

Annabeth is a much prettier sight than Mr D, but she could just as intimidating when she's kept waiting. Percy waits a split second to see if she will drop kick him, or tackle him before he comes forward and slides an arm around her shoulder.

"Sorry, I missed the meeting about Demigods going into space." It sounds like a title to a really bad action film. His eyes run over her, checking that she's okay because if anyone's tried to hurt her...

That's it?

They're separated with absolutely no clue where the other person is, and all he can do is slide an arm around her shoulder like they're ... common acquaintances or something?

Annabeth practically rolls her eyes, and does consider hitting him for good measure, before she's wrapping her arms around him instead.

"It was kind of an impromptu meeting," she mumbles into his shirt.

At first, Toothiana just blinks at Steve. It then finally occurs to her how absolutely bizarre this must look if one took her out of the picture. A floating cat. Shark responds to his call by stretching over Toothiana's arms and meowing. The feline continues to purr quietly as now, Steve might notice, the indentations in his fur move with Toothiana's hand.

Well. That's one to get someone's attention. Her eyes flit around the area. Maybe she could find some paper, a pen and write him a message. Those sorts of things are likely not rarities here, she has to remind herself. If not there has to be some way she can try and communicate.

This was so intensely strange! Last she knew she was preparing to deliver bento boxes to the victorious ToQgers when she wheeled herself and her cart of drinks, sandwiches, bento boxes, and snacks from the storage area into the lounge car where the kids spent most of their time. Instead, she wheeled it right into the lounge of a completely different place! "Iyaaaan~~" she cooed. "This is intensely not the Rainbow Line!"

She abandoned her cart and made a beeline for the glass showing the vastness of space. "Iyaaaa~~ This is intensely unbelievable! Completely unexpected!" She produced what appeared to be some kind of smart phone, and started punching buttons.

Was she trying to call home? Gosh, no! This was an excellent backdrop for selfies! And if she had to drape herself across your table to get just the right angle, then so be it.

Give Percy a room full of monsters and he will work out a way to handle them, he's less good at handling his girlfriend - he's got a bad habit of putting his foot in his mouth. "Did Gaia call it?" he said as he dipped his head and rested his head on top of hers. His arms tightened around her at the thought. When were they going to catch a break?

He couldn't resist placing a kiss on her hair. "Because I want to drop kick her into space right about now."

She didn't pay attention to him until she'd take a couple pictures, tipping her helmet at a few different angles. "Iyaa~~ I am intensely sorry!" She brought her hands up to her chest and bumped her hip up against him. It may have been a bit harder than she might have intended.

[Sickbay]

Q has a startling sense of timing.

A man was zapped onto the floor of Sickbay, looking dusty, beaten up, and incredibly worse for wear... That was including a bloodstained bandage across his head, helping some very serious trauma.

Of course, he was quickly attended to, prepped and sealed up with the best medical technology the 24th Century can provide.

A few hours later, he starts to come to in one of Sickbay's Recovery beds, having being stripped down into hospital clothing that's, surprisingly, pretty comfortable... That's the first thing that had alarm bells ringing in Mack's head.

His vision was blurry, but slowly swimming into focus. It sounded like a hospital.

[Ten Forward]

After his foray in Sickbay, Master Sergeant Gerhardt is given the standard run of the ship given to all Q-affected. Of course, he still, partly, believes this is a delusion caused by his head injury, his memory still being a bit fuzzy, but he was assured that it was likely to clear up in a few days.

He eases himself into a stool facing the bar. "Beer. Anything you got." He grunts, not unkindly, but just wanting something alcoholic to take the edge off things.

Suddenly, once she got a good look at his face, she stopped and stared. If a faceless mask could stare. She raised a hand to the lips on her face in awe. "Such a hottie... Let me take a picture with you!" And she's not giving him the option to refuse. She reaches to wrap an arm around him and out comes the phone again.

"Addiction is a pain, isn't it?" Comes the voice of a man to his left. "I mean, I've never been addicted to something, so I can't comiserate, but I've seen countless cases of it."

"Oh, no. No, I'm not from this timeline, heaven forbid." There's a pause, and a smile on his face.

"You haven't been told where you are, have you?"

He then shakes his head and tuts. "My, I simply must have a word with Captain Picard and his crew's politeness."
