It won't be unnecessarily hard; we're dealing with a few characters whose metabolisms function at an elevated rate or who otherwise can't (or more likely just really shouldn't) eat nothing but candy for a whole weekend, and wanted to keep that in mind. While I didn't want to nail it down to a specific number of correctly-working replicators, somewhere in the neighborhood of five of them will be producing normal food just like they ought to. They might be in someone's room, or on a lesser-used deck, like the observation room for the cargo bay, but providing Dylan is willing to search for a while, he won't starve.
