Halloween Plot!

Hello hello my lovely denizens, Sage here. I'm reporting in to let you know that in two weeks Ten Forward is going to have a Halloween plot!

This will kick off on Thursday, October 30th here in the US, and it will end on Monday, November 3rd, so it will be open over Halloween but allow for a little extended time to play. We are going to have several things happening on the Enterprise, all Halloween-centric in nature, and it's important to note that all of these things are strictly optional for each of you to play with.

The Plot: Our resident Q loves mayhem, and as you well know he needs no excuse to cause it. But an Earth holiday dedicated to tricks, treats, ghastly sights and mischief? How could he resist! After all, following that whole mishap on Alemar III, he thinks the good captain and his ship could use a little lightening up. Whether they like it or not...

The Events:
1) Starting Thursday, the replicators ship-wide are going to malfunction and will only produce candy for the duration of the weekend. They will make most kinds of sweets from several different worlds, so if you feel like looking up some wild or weird-flavored Vulcan treat, have fun! For the purposes of this plot, there will be a few--key words, there--replicator terminals that will produce normal food, but they will not be in easy-to-access parts of the ship. You can still ask for inedible items from the terminals, and that function will remain unaffected.

2) Some of the candy the affected replicators produce will have side-effects! Because all of your mods are, sadly, from Earth, the sweets that have effects beyond your usual sugar-rush will be Earth treats. They are: candy apples, popcorn balls, and taffy.

• Candy apples will change one physical appearance of your character; so this could change their hair color, their nails, give them a crooked witch's nose with warts, whatever floats your boat. You can even give them a Fu Manchu moustache if you think it's funny!
  
• Popcorn balls will give your character a phobia of your choice--this is your spooky option if you want a little drama in your Halloween plot. It can be anything from claustrophobia to xenophobia to even astrophobia if you feel like being really mean, or you can even custom-fit a phobia specifically for your character.
  
• Finally, taffy will give your character one power, like flight or maybe invisibility, or will take one away if your character already has powers.

3) Characters will be stuck in costumes! Q will change any character's clothes, uniform or civilian, into festive costumes of your choosing. He's shown us this capability and predilection in canon with zero prompting, so we figure he'll be more than happy to do it with any sort of impetus. What these costumes are and whether or not they can be removed or exchanged for normal clothes will be up to the mun individually.

It's important to note that none of these effects will last beyond the end of the plot on Monday, November 3rd. You can feel free to play with any or all of these effects for the given weekend, and the candy side-effects will compound; for example, if your character eats a candy apple and their hair turns bright purple, they can eat another one and it will be your choice whether their hair turns another shade or if another physical attribute like their nose shape changes.

You can use this post to ask any questions you may have about the plot, or get together with other people to see what shenanigans you can come up with! Once again, here are the important details:

Just how hard is it going to be to track down some actual food producing replicators?

I'm definitely willing to play with the candy, but I'm not sure I want to think what having to survive on just candy for that long is going to do to Dylan's metabolism. And I'm willing to play around with this but just want to think about what my options might be :)

Noriko Ashida and Sinthia Schmidt

So, Noriko is totally getting stuck in a costume, and since I haven't figured out what yet I am so open to suggestions it's ridiculous. I'm meaning toward playing off her blue hair by sticking her in a sailor mercury costume. Also I may give her a phobia--probably astrapophobia, which is fear of thunder and lightning, because I am the meanest mun ever--and I'd love for people to do stuff with her during this time.

Sinthia, on the other hand, is more than likely going to be a princess of some sort because lol, she won't have the faintest idea what to do with that. She maaaaay have an attribute change, but she's got enough phobias ad worries in her life to deal with already. If she gets enough into the halloween spirit she might play pop-up ghost and scare the snot out of people, but obviously I'd need volunteers for that. So hit me up here if you've got any ideas for either of them!

I have a desire to see Gold made to look largely as he does as the Dark One in the Enchanted Forest, and when it comes to costume change, well he'll be in EF clothing as well. For those who are canon blind or would like visual reference

However to get the changes I need made done, I need three people or one person with 3 apples to approach Gold with candy apples from the replicator, because the man himself still refuses to use them.

Speaking of which! People who aren't in the mood for all candy, all the time and not willing to go to considerable lengths to find properly working replicators; Gold will be offering his magic to conjure normal decent food for those who express the desire for it.

Unfortunately, unlike the replicators, he'll be wanting something in return for it...unless his son happens to be standing close to him or is within sight in the same room. So your best bet for free decent food is to find Gold in Ten Forward when Neal is around...otherwise, he's going to want a favor or information in return for it.

As for costumes, Dylan's getting a blast from the past in a 19th century Royal Navy dress uniform! And I'm replacing his holster and force lance with a sword for the duration because I am HORRIBLE.

And dying his hair Commonwealth flag blue. Which is COBALT BLUE.


Simon is going to be dressed as a cowboy. Yeah, he'll hate me too.


Jack and Jonas ... so far no particular ideas, open to suggestions ... :)

Yuna Plotting

Yuna has just arrived on the ship and doesn't know many people yet. As for plotting well, she already has a costume she can wear so I might toss her in something more strange for her. Though, that is rather hard to think of.

I'd love for her to run into more people.

Her world doesn't really have a lot of sweets either so her sugar high might be a little crazy as she discovers new treats and in this plot new tricks lol. I was thinking of giving her a candy but I don't know what one. Having a fear might be fun because she doesn't really have those.

Akito will be dressed up as Toothiana, but with a twist since he's not actually a Sister of Flight with feathers. He'll be in this outfit along with this headpiece. And some gold and green feathers mixed into his hair (which is already a nice blue!)

For the wings he'll get these pinned to the back of the dress. Which he will love like crazy even if he'll be critical that they don't actually look like Tooth's.

His big fluffy Birman cat, Shark, will be dressed in this costume because Akito thought it was the best idea ever.

His Tooth Fairy buddy, Plume, will probably dress up as something too, but idk what yet... :|a Maybe one of those lame sheet-ghost costumes! :'D Kind of like this, with a hole for her beak-nose, eyes, and in the back for her wings. For people who don't believe in Tooth Fairies this might be especially funny since... they might be able to see just a random free-floating cloth ghost.

I am open to suggestions for my teenaged space pirate's costume.

Not really looking for powers or phobias right now - all I can really think of for phobias are making her scared of public speaking (which, a little hard to get anything threaded with that if she just hides in her room and eats candy until it goes away) or of space itself which would make a very alien sort of Marika. Might work something in if it makes the costume better though, so don't be afraid to sell me on a bundled deal.

Plot with me, people! I need ideas! I've only settled on a few things, and I'm a bit wishy-washy on if I'm being suitably mean to my muses creative here.

Steve: He's gonna get a costume. It's probably gonna be this, because you're terrible enablers. I think I may allow him to change before the day is out, especially if some of his plots come to fruition where he would need to do things. Like bend over. ~cackle~ God, he hates me. As for candy effects, I haven't thought of anything! I'm kind of interested in giving him a phobia, but can't think of anything super appropriate.

Guinan: I kind of just want Guinan to hang around the bar wearing this. :> No powers, because there should be some calm in the eye of the storm.

Kate: I would love to give her a power, maybe super strength? Or telekinesis? She's a petite 5'1 blonde cowgirl with a penchant for guns and trouble, so seeing her get excited about being as strong as some of the big guys we have on board would be delightful. As for costumes, maybe I'll make her a Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader. I did that once, a long time ago, and it was hilarious. Not sure, though.

Amy: Amy's going to get a beautiful, wart-covered witch's nose, because I'm a terrible person. I may give her more physical effects too. Blonde hair? Knotted fingers that she can rub together while she cackles? Haven't worked out a costume, though.

Picard: Will look exactly like he always does, like this. xD He's gonna be patient zero. I wouldn't be averse to giving him any or all of the candy effects, I just haven't worked out any good ones.

I'm clueless on John or Geordi, though. Thoughts? Plots? Want me anywhere? :D?

I sort of, kind of, want to give Regina a popcorn ball and make her terrified of the dark.

For a lot of reasons it causes some anxiety.

Also, because I always did like foreshadowing, Regina will find herself in this iconic outfit and wonder why the hell she's in so much leather and a weird hairdo.

Beyond that, I guess Gold should consider himself lucky I went with the Skin Deep Belle deal look and not say this or even this look. Because those two would have definitely been meaner, due to how much worse off he looks there. Though it is rather tempting to go with the jailed look to match Regina's outfit X3

Robin Hood

Robin's costume will be this LOL because I'm a great mun. ;)

He'll be getting some taffy, and a fun power (mostly because he doesn't like magic, so of course, he needs to experience it firsthand XD): he'll be an empath, so he can feel people's emotions/feelings. Of course, if I make a post or when I tag into things with him, I'll put up OOC comments so people know, and he won't be talking to people about their emotions if muns would rather him not. :D

Lucie, I think, will be stuck in a Princess Leia costume. Hair in cinnamon-roll buns, white gown, etc. Basically, a blonde Leia.

And she'll be remarkably upset that she can get all the chocolate she wants, when she KNOWS it will all go to her thighs.

Hmmm, Sam has already had to do the dressing in fancy women's clothes once (and hated every second).

I may aim for Napoleonic War soldier's outfit, or stereotypical Indian brave outfit instead... either of which is going to annoy her plenty.

Neal Cassidy

Neal will spend the weekend dressed like this because I like being mean to him, and have fun with that, mister.

He will eat a candy apple before he figures out what they do, but I haven't decided on a change in his appearance yet. Once he figures out what the taffy does, he will avoid it like the plague.

It's bad enough his alternate grandson is going to be looking way too much like Pan for his peace of mind. He doesn't need more reminders of Hook from his son. Especially after the Milah thing XD

Shotaro and Ahim

Shotaro - He will be Watson to Philip's Holmes and SUPER SALTY ABOUT IT. As for powers, the Gaia Library will be ending up in his brain instead of Philip's. Not really looking at a phobia for him for canon-related reasons. This'll be hilarious enough as it is 8D

Ahim - She's no stranger to costume changes, both in and out of henshin. My thought right now is a ninja outfit of some kind like from MMPR Season 3 beginning maybe? but she's definitely going to have pink hair. Or maybe a magnificent ballgown and be sad. D:

Philip and Alex

Philip is going to be dressed as Sherlock Holmes, and be super amused that it wasn't Shotaro. He'll be trying candy apple after candy apple just to see what cool physical traits he can get. Somebody needs to stop him. He's also going to be losing his Gaia Library access due to taffy. Not sure if I want to give him a phobia or not.

Alex is going to be stuck in the Raggedy Ann costume she wore during a canon Halloween episode, and be really embarrassed about it because ugh, that was so two years ago. She'll also be losing her telekinesis and kind of freak out about that.

Peggy Carter

I'm planning on having Peggy develop superpowers. Super strength at least. I'm not sure if she should get anything else. She also will end up in a super hero costume. A version of WWII Captain America is tempting.
