Food for thought!

I got questions a question-shaped thing that is not actually a question. You got answers?

We all know that characters who aren't the focus in their canon need a lot of fleshing out and filling in to play them, but even characters from really extensive canons have little details about them, likes or dislikes or past experiences, that have never been mentioned--look at your own life, and the things you'd have an opinion on or a story about if the subject came up but it just hasn't yet.

So give me one of those for your character, something that has never come up before because you are making it up for them right here and now. Favorite childhood toy! That cashier they avoid at the grocery store! Why the smell of balsamic vinegar makes them a little queasy! Anything you want.

When back in his own world and left to his own devices, with nothing else to do, Loki enjoys hanging out at laundromats. He's a shapeshifter (which includes his clothes) so he doesn't actually have laundry to do, but it's generally warm, the sounds of the machines are soothing and hey, captive audience of people to talk to for a few hours. He's made some interesting friends (and gone on to some very interesting nights) that way.

Like all proper Norse women, Sigyn's very good at turning a sheep's fleece into, eventually, fine fabric. Unlike most Norse women, she doesn't actually have to keep sheep around to get that fleece, which is certainly handy on a starship, isn't it? Just keep her husband well-fed and he'll give her all the fleece she could want, in her choice of colors.

Mireille likes shiny things. This may be the result of having been built by a demigod whose family originated the hoard of the Nibelungen; Weyland used to give her a lot of jewelry, and that made her happy.

(She may or may not have pocketed some shiny things that didn't exactly belong to her, over the years. They don't have to be worth anything, they just have to be shiny and pretty. Mechanical magpie, this one.)

Pyrrha was (very briefly) in a band once, substituting for an injured mandolinist in an all-girls' rockabilly band in spite of not being able to play at all: she had the right look, made believable concentrating-faces while pretending to play, and the sound system was so bad no one could hear her anyway.

Secretly, she wants to be in a band again, but still has no musical talent at all. Sings like Lou Reed, dances embarrassingly, trips over things... but you never know, right?

Aeryn didn't have a favorite childhood toy. She didn't really have 'toys' to speak of. She lived in a bunk room with other girls her age, born aboard the commander carrier and bred specifically from military service persons for military service. That room was pretty sparse, from the beds to the surroundings, and if it had anything it, those things were meant to improve their reflexes and aptitudes.


But you would not call them toys.

One year, after a fairly good take from selling horses of questionable ownership, Butch used his share of the money to provide the best Christmas dinner ever for the girls at Fannie Porter's, because why not? If he'd gambled with that money, it would've been just as gone, and they wouldn't have had such a lovely party.

Anyway, that's why he can always hide out there, and why the ladies will cover for him.

Billy had a strange childhood. Rather than play with toys, he tended to take them apart to see how they worked. His first favorites were Legos, but he soon graduated to water pistols, Transformers-like toys with moving parts, and eventually little gaming handhelds.

Eventually, his parents had to buy a bunch of old objects from yard sales and stuff him in the garage just to get him to stay away from their stuff! But they were grateful that he was able to repair most of their appliances by the time he was ten.

Andros had a previous team with Zhane on KO-35 and they all got killed. That's why he was so against giving the astro morphers to his current team and hates it when people get hurt under his leadership.

Sinthia gets frustrated when she tries to tell people her favorite color. It's NOT Tiffany Blue, but Cosmic Cube blue.

Unfortunately they really don't have that color in paint stores. (And she's not allowed to play with the thing currently. Sad.)

There is a reason Adam has naturally curly hair for someone who is The Asian of the group. It's because despite the focus (sometimes) on his Korean ancestry, Adam is, in fact, half-Korean. The other half is Irish!

Why Irish? Because his actor, Johnny Yong Bosch, is half Korean from his mother's side and German and Irish from his father's.
