TEST DRIVE #6 - The Bridge and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...

Option 02. The Bridge: Well, aren't you a lucky duck? You've found yourself in hallowed quarters. Wherever you were before, you're not there anymore. Now you're in a room that could be some kind of command center or control room; there's a captain's chair flanked by seats for his chief officers, computer panels and stations at each interior wall, and before you a broad viewscreen that shows the wide expanse of space rushing towards you. Have you ever wanted to be a starship captain for a day? Well, here's your chance. Feel free to roam around, but try not to touch anything shiny.

[OOC: The Bridge isn't usually available for in-game posts, so if you've ever wanted to play there, here's your chance!]

Sickbay!

It's somewhat disconcerting the way that patients sometimes appear literally from nowhere aboard the Enterprise. Admittedly, there is not always much warning of an incoming casualty on Serenity, but there is at least generally Mal (or somebody else) going out on a job, which presents the possibility, even likelihood, of someone being hurt.

Here, patients have a way of simply appearing. At least Q managed to bring this man, as badly hurt as he was, directly into sickbay, as he'd done with Simon and Kaylee when they first arrived. Simon and Kaylee had fallen to the capable care of Doctor Bashir. This man had fallen to Simon's.

That's why Simon is ... not precisely hovering by his patient's bedside, but certainly checking in on him regularly, and why Simon is the first of the medical personnel there after he awakens.

"Welcome back," Simon says, quietly, as the man's eyes begin to focus. "You're safe now."

No restraints.

That was the first thing that crossed Mack's mind when his thoughts are coherent enough. That means friendly, or they're idiots.

No headache. Second-most important thing. He brings a hand up to his head, eyes focusing on Simon. This man had "Doctor" written all over him... There were no bandages, no sign of injury... Odd. He hit his head pretty hard.

"Where'm I?" He asks, gruffly, voice thick. He's half putting it on. He's a lot more alert than he is letting on, eyes leaving Simon to look around.

Well, that's a start. No complaints about the medical intervention, which is the sort of thing he's become accustomed to on Serenity. And he's lucid enough to remember the injuries he'd had, to judge by the way his hand goes to his head, to the spot where he had, yes, had a fairly serious head wound.

Fortunately for his new patient, the medical facilities on the Enterprise are even better than those in Simon's world, despite this being in his past, and his wound is now healed.

"You're in the sickbay aboard a ship called the Enterprise," Simon says, taking a step closer. "How are you feeling?"
