TEST DRIVE #6 - The Bridge and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...





Option 02. The Bridge: Well, aren't you a lucky duck? You've found yourself in hallowed quarters. Wherever you were before, you're not there anymore. Now you're in a room that could be some kind of command center or control room; there's a captain's chair flanked by seats for his chief officers, computer panels and stations at each interior wall, and before you a broad viewscreen that shows the wide expanse of space rushing towards you. Have you ever wanted to be a starship captain for a day? Well, here's your chance. Feel free to roam around, but try not to touch anything shiny.

She pursed her lips. "No." See she recognizes that temper now. "Sweetheart, he is still your father. There are certain ways that family trees work. It doesn't make him raising you any less true and you don't get to order me around." She Is staunch on that last one. He wouldn't leave her alone when she requested it so why she should afford him the same courtesy? He may be a child but he could learn a few lessons. "If you would let me explain instead of getting angry you would find out that people are much more friendly and easier to work with." She pays mind not to raise her voice this time. "Are you done?"

"No. I don't want you to explain. I don't care. And this is my room. So if you're gonna play by my rules or leave. It's as simple as that. If you don't, I can call security. You shouldn't be out of quarantine anyway."

She's pressed one of his buttons and he didn't want to talk about it. So either she did what he was asking of her or she left. Henry didn't care which.

"Your temper isn't going to get you anywhere with anyone. We're from different versions of the same world and you can't expect me not to make mistakes." Fine, if he wants to call security, he can. She'll wait for them to retrieve her and throw her into whatever quarantine they have. It won't be any different than any other prison she's been in. "And for the record, I don't play by your rules. I play by my own. No one decides my fate but me." She frowns. "Go on. Tell them to come. I'll go willingly."

"I asked you nicely. You refused." He scowled but walked towards the comm panel to make good on his threat.

"And you can't go willingly without them?"

"No you didn't ask nicely. As I recall you told me to shut up and get out." She's not moving. Henry can go ahead and fuss with that panel.

"Then what are you waiting for?"

"I was giving you a chance."

Then he pressed the button and called for security. He told them she was new and wouldn't leave his room. They replied they'd be right there. And Henry knew they wouldn't long. Plenty of security personnel were stationed on his deck because of the visitors.

True to her word she waits no matter how frustrated he may be with her. When security does finally arrive at Henry's door she pushes herself up out of her seat, brushes off the non-existent dust from her clothes, and walks forward. She holds her head high like the lady she was taught to be living with her family in the Enchanted Forest. Where ever they decide to take her she won't make a fuss about it. She's trying to prove a point with this and that point was made. If Henry thought he had power over her it only came from being able to make her leave his room through the power of another. She would not tolerate his attitude, his insults, or his massively annoying temper that reminded her too much of the man she knew in the Enchanted Forest. They both have softer sides and she's seen that softer side in glimpses from Henry today. Once at the door she looks over her shoulder. "If you do change your mind, you can come find me." It only takes a nudge from Starfleet security for her to continue out.

That anger was still present after she left. He tried to stem it, clearing away his books into his bag and placing it carefully in his room but it didn't work. He kicked the table to vent the anger with wished he hadn't.

Oh, he certainly wasn't going to change his mind any time soon. Not unless she stopped calling his dad, his grandfather.
