TEST DRIVE #2 - The Holodeck/Ten Forward

Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.

Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.

OR

2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!

Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?

[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

Open til next month's test drive!]

#2, because why not?

"Computer, freeze program!"

Just as the former Klingon prepares to deliver a death blow, both freeze perfectly in place. Jean-Luc may have tried evading her with a little time in his favorite program, but as is wont to happen with a woman as persistent as Lwaxana Troi, she has found him out. And he isn't about to just stand by and see her harmed, program or not.

So the captain, outfitted in garb appropriate for one Private Eye Dixon Hill, approaches from the far end of the room, rubbing his temples.

At first, she's just glad she's finally found Picard. No, better than that, he's sought her out. Maybe he's not avoiding her after all! And yet, there's the nagging feeling that she should turn around. And in doing so, her eyes widen.

"Jean-Luc!" She cries out, taking a step backward, away from the weapon poised only inches from her face. Scrambling back, away from those ugly faces, she moves to Picard's side, immediately linking her arm with his.

"My hero..." She smiles over at him, her initial shock quickly fading. "Not that I normally take to the damsel in distress role so easily."

And she'll turn, pulling him along with her toward the door. A room full of enraged Klingons isn't exactly a romantic setting.

"Really Jean-Luc!" Despite her admonishing tone, she almost coos her words, still leading him. "Why would you have something like that aboard your ship! And what..." She waves her free hand at his suit and trench coat. "is all this?"

He really has no recourse but to allow her to hold onto him, though the smile he offers in response to her gratitude is a touch forced. A strong touch. A shove, one could say.

"I'm sure," he says, nodding along. "I but saw an opportunity to assist, and—"

Whatever he was about to say is cut short by a startled grunt as she drags him along. He holds onto his hat, barely tamping down an annoyed sigh. "My chief of security, among others, find this program quite relaxing, as a matter of fact. This is a holodeck simulation, Ambassador Troi. I, ah ... I was rather hoping for a different program myself."
