TEST DRIVE #2 - The Holodeck/Ten Forward

Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.

Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.

OR

2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!

Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?

[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

Open til next month's test drive!]

"I'm not sure."

It's an honest answer. Guinan isn't Betazoid, and her feelings are more like intuition rather than empathy. She has been a lot of places and met a lot of people, but some of the people who have arrived ... it's hard to tell.

"I feel like a lot of them are hiding something, but it isn't sounding any warning bells. Yet. After all, we all have things about ourselves we try to keep hidden."

"Perhaps, with very understandable reason," Deanna agreed, with a small nod. "Would not we all hold some things back if it seemed as though we had been taken from our homes, without a clear reason, by a foreign transgressor claiming equal confusion and innocence, and could not be promised to be returned to them just as quickly?"

Even if it was the truth, save for the details of Q known to a selective few only, it was a lot to ask of so many.

Given what the worst projections of reactions could have been, they've all been very lucky up to now.

Very lucky indeed. Guinan nods in full agreement.

"I wish someone would put Q out of his misery, and by so doing put us all out of our misery. They're a spoiled race who show no respect for other people."

There's no love lost between Guinan and The Q.

"I'm only glad that no one's been hurt."

Will had had enough of WEIRD for one day. His head hurt and his stomach growled - to Ten Forward it was, then. Although, he wasn't sure a stiff drink would help either of those things.

But, so help him, he WANTED one.

With his usual purposeful stride, he sauntered into Ten Forward, belying none of his exhaustion through posture or composure. Inwardly, however, he wanted nothing more than to put his arms on the top of Guinan's highly polished bar top and hide his face in the crook of his elbows.

He doubted Guinan would mind if he did that, but he didn't think it would look too good if the crew came upon their First Officer having an existential crisis. Better to have that in the privacy of his own room...

His original intent was to sit by himself, but his eyes locked onto Deanna the instant the doors to Ten Forward slid open. As always where Deanna was concerned, Will found himself drifting toward her.

"Deanna," he murmured quietly as he stepped up into her conversation. "Guinan," he nodded toward the bartender with his usual crooked smile (never mind that it was ever so forced, given the circumstances). "You ladies mind if I join you?"
