TEST DRIVE #2 - The Holodeck/Ten Forward

Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.

Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.

OR

2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!

Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?

[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

Open til next month's test drive!]

And Terzen lowers his hand as the gun lowers. He stands from his stool.

"The United Federation of Planets. A coalition of many member worlds in the Alpha Quadrant."

He frowns. "And, yes. People are just showing up here. I was on the USS Pathfinder before finding myself on the Enterprise."

And now, he can't find any trace of the Pathfinder's existence, other than the computer records and that subspace transponder beacon...

"Don't worry, I don't expect you to know what the Federation is. Many people come from times, or even dimensions, where the Federation doesn't exist."

In an infinitely large universe with all of time and space to choose from, even Jack isn't arrogant enough to assume that he actually knows everything. But in his time and place, from Torchwood and the Time Agency and not least travelling with the Doctor, he knows a lot, and this Lieutenant Commander T'Karr sounds like his Federation is big news.

To Jack, it means nothing.

What does mean something, though, is the way the guy talks about times and dimensions.

"Times and dimensions?" he says, eyes narrowing. He glances around, eyes scanning the room like people from other dimensions would be obvious to him, instead of looking just like anyone else.

Which he knows they do.

"That shouldn't be possible."

"It shouldn't be." Terzen admits, freely, yet he can feel the other man's confusion. "And here we are."

He's still standing, non-threatening, unarmed. It's not like he can assault someone's mind to make them stop, but he could probably provide enough distraction by delving into their emotions... if necessary. Terzen didn't think it was, however.

"It's entirely possible that I'm from a different dimension than this Enterprise. An almost parallel course, except in this one, I didn't exist, my ship didn't exist, and probably a few other minor changes, too."

Sorry sorry I've been trying to get my head around Jonas

"And given that I've never heard of your Federation, it sounds like I am too."

Okay. That is not good. Stranded in another dimension with a broken vortex manipulator, no team, no tech, and no idea what's going on.

Even as bad days at Torchwood go, that's a hell of a situation to be in.

"I hate alternate dimensions." He shoves the Webley back into its holster. "So, does anyone have any idea what's going on here if people are just showing up on this ship?"
