TEST DRIVE #2 - The Holodeck/Ten Forward

Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.

Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.

OR

2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!

Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?

[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

Open til next month's test drive!]

"Even joined, yes. DS9's Science Officer is a joined Trill--we're rather good friends." And her name is rather infamous, so he's just going to not volunteer it for the moment, even if Jadzia is in active service even now--though not as Jadzia Dax, she wouldn't be joined until next year. Dax was still with Curzon for the moment.

He was perfectly capable of keeping all this information straight, but if he were normal, he thinks he perhaps would have a headache from it by now.

He was about to say that he wasn't aware of too many Joined Trill in Starfleet, let alone pysicians who knew how to treat them, but Terzen checks himself, remembering Bashir is from the future.

"How about Betazoids, Doctor?" Random topic change? Maybe.

The future brings all sorts of things.

"Not as much--I was friends with a few at the Academy, but I've not met many since. A few visit the station here and there, but that's about all."

"Well, perhaps we can rectify that."

A slight smile, wondering if Julian will pick up on the hint.

Judging from his expression, he has. And he's also encountered Trill hybrids that have been joined, so he's perhaps not as shocked as he could have bee--Yedrin had been an extremely special and isolated case, though, as far as he knew.

"Ah, you're Betazoid as well then?"

"Half. My father was Betazoid, my mother, Trill." And his smile widens. "And, yes, that means I keep all the gifts from my joint lineage."

"Empathy and being joined--that must get complicated." Julian is certainly curious how it works, but he knows better than to treat people like science experiments. That is exceedingly rude.

"A bit." An understatement, it takes more concentration than usual to stop T'Karr from inadvertantly taking over, but...

"We have an agreement. The symbiont doesn't exert too much influence, and I don't impose too much of a restriction." A pause. "T'Karr thought that the experience would be... unique."
