TEST DRIVE #2 - The Holodeck/Ten Forward

Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.

Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.

OR

2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!

Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?

[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

Open til next month's test drive!]

She looks at him blankly for a minute as if gauging his response's truth against what's in his head, and seems to accept it without saying anything further. But unfortunately, the room isn't all that interesting to her; it's a bedroom, and there's nothing spectacular about building one of those unless there's some sentimental value to it. The heart in his hand, however...now that's interesting.

"Whose is that?" she asks, nodding to his hand and the glowing organ therein.

Henry looked between her and the heart, then gave a cruel smile. "Not yours, unfortunately." Because then he could make her leave.

He continued to talk to computer, ignoring her unless she spoke again, playing with his heart in his hand to soothe his mood.

"If you could take mine I'd be impressed," she said dryly. "But if you'd like I can show you how it's done."

"You...show me?" He laughed. "I already know how to take your heart, little girl. And you're lucky I don't want to or I would have done it already."

"You know how to take someone else's heart, yes. Someone human. Unluckily for you your method doesn't work on me."

"You have no idea what you're talking about. But if you're so sure, why don't you let me try?"

"If you feel like tiring yourself, be my guest," she says, turning to him. Her chest is only covered by the pink and green cotton of a polo dress, and it would seem to be the easiest thing in the world to simply reach into her chest and pull.

The hitch comes in that she's not solid, not tangible or touchable at the moment. It's like a hologram, albeit an exceptionally realistic one.

Standing up, Henry moves closer to the girl and easily slips his hand into her chest. But when he pulls his hand out, it's empty. He tries a second time but nothing happens.

"Computer, save and end program." But while everything else, including the heart he had previously held in his hand, disappeared. The two of them stayed in the room. He tried again, but again failed.

Scowling at Sinthia, he growled his question. "What magic is this?"

"Intangibility," she says simply, looking down at his hand in her chest, and then back up at Henry's face. "Are you aware of how that works?"

Henry didn't care how it worked. It was obviously some form of magic. Perhaps if he could make her sleep, he'd be able to grab it then.

So that's what he tried.
