Test Drive #7 - Ten Forward and Captain's Yacht

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...





Option 02. The Captain's Yacht: Oooh, you sneaky stowaway! You've found yourself in a very exclusive part of the ship: Captain Picard's personal craft, used for short jaunts when a shuttle just won't do. (One must retain some decorum, after all.) It may not be as large as the Enterprise itself, but there are sure to be some surprises aboard once people start snooping.


[OOC: The Captain's Yacht is located at the very base of the Enterprise's saucer portion, so if you put someone in there you can also play them trying to get back to somewhere they know!]

"Nice to meet you, Elizabeth!" He shook her hand bouncily and grinned wider.

"It's a long way for me, too." he glanced around, and smiled. "This place isn't so bad. We have to go through a minor quarantine to here, sickbay, and our guest rooms for a little while, and then we get rooms while we try to figure out what to do here. So far, no one has figured out a way home."

He rubbed his face, thinking. "People are brought here from all over time and space, from different universes, like."

"Quarantine? Oh, I suppose that makes sense. If someone came in with the Black Death you'd want them to be isolated." She frowned lightly as she thought about it. "That's a really large quarantine area, though, and there are a lot of people. How do they stop people from getting sick? I could have diseases they've never even heard of and not know it."

"Yup. Or, you know, like, alien fevers of some kind." He shuddered. "Well, you go to Sickbay from here first thing. They give you shots and start the tests right then. It just takes a little while fore the final tests to be complete. But what they do do helps keep people from catching anything you might have."

Matt nodded to her.

"But haven't people already been exposed to me? I mean you're talking to me right now, I'm sitting at a bar and if I order a drink I'll leave my germs behind on my glass. Nobody's hauling me off to sickbay, I could do a lot of damage without meaning to." Even more if she was doing it on purpose, which a few of the people she'd met would do.

"I'm not sure how it works. I'm sure they're on their way now." He smiled lopsidedly at her. "I'm sure it's mostly a precaution. Seems like Q wouldn't drop in a plague case unless he warned peopled, since he doesn't seem like he wants to cause harm... most of the time." Matt had studied all he could get his hands on.

Elizabeth wrinkled her nose, shaking her head a little. "Powerful beings like that often lose sight of humanity. He doesn't have to intend harm to do a lot of it."
