Test Drive #7 - Ten Forward and Captain's Yacht

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...

Option 02. The Captain's Yacht: Oooh, you sneaky stowaway! You've found yourself in a very exclusive part of the ship: Captain Picard's personal craft, used for short jaunts when a shuttle just won't do. (One must retain some decorum, after all.) It may not be as large as the Enterprise itself, but there are sure to be some surprises aboard once people start snooping.
[OOC: The Captain's Yacht is located at the very base of the Enterprise's saucer portion, so if you put someone in there you can also play them trying to get back to somewhere they know!]
Sorry this is so late, you've seen my plurk :(
He shook it off and twisted to hurry down the hall. "Hey, hey. What's wron-" He skidded to stop, watching the man in front of him.
Magneto wasn't actually sure what was happening, not at first. "Ok, ok. Hey. Sir. Take a breath. I know this is frightening, I know you might be hurt. But it's going to be ok." He didn't know that - hell didn't trust people here yet - but he sounded convincing.
S'Okay! I hope things get better.
thanks. trying to!
woo!
And somehow... the change receded, and he collapsed, groaning, to the ground.
no subject
Seeing the man collapsed, he inched forward. "Do you need me to call for medical? Probably shouldn't get up right away."
no subject
His heart beat coming under control, his eyes going dark again, and his mind calming, he glanced up at the other man. "Sorry for the brief scene. Not my favorite way to meet new people."
no subject
"No harm done, don't worry about it." But he was curious about what he'd just seen.
no subject
And he looked around, then at the man.
"And tell me where I am. That would probably be good, too."
no subject
"Space, actually. We're aboard a starship. I'll return - there is a machine down the passage, for your water and medication." He paused for a moment, making sure the man was all right for the time being, then left to retrieve the items. It only took a few minutes before he returned with a cup and envelop with two small pills.
"Here."
no subject
Bruce paused as the man left and returned, and he took the cup and envelope, a little suspicious, but willing to trust, for now. "Thank you. Now, you said a starship? How big? Where? Who runs it?"
Bruce had questions.
no subject
Magneto had to think about it - he'd gotten basic specs, of course. "Roughly 642 by 463 by 195, all meters. There are forty-two decks, and she can house just over a thousand people." If this man wanted to know size, that should give him a ballpark. "And no where near Earth, which I'm assuming you are from, we're moving but one of the ship's computers can get you coordinates, if you'd like." He tended to check them at least once a day, sometimes more. Charting their path. "It's run by a group called Starfleet, have you heard of them?"
no subject
"Dimensional changes. Has to be. Alteration of scientific and temporal characteristics. Holy shit."
Bruce shook his head. "I'd have to say it is either in the far future of my time, or the far past, and in another universe."
no subject
"It is yes. Most here seem to be from the past as well as another universe, if you don't mind sharing? This isn't my universe, and it's barely the twenty-first century for me. My name's Erik, by the way." Now that the other man was calmed down - and seemed to have an idea of what was going on - Magneto was more willing to simply sit and talk.
no subject
"I'm from the 21st century, in the teens. My name's Bruce." He extended his hand.
no subject
"Bruce. Nice to meet you." He took Bruce's hand, shaking it. His own hand was calloused and strong - he'd worked with them, a lot.
no subject
He shook Erik's hand and nodded. He had no callouses, but hands that felt like he should have them.
no subject
But this wasn't terrible. Yes. Better than the ruin of Genosha.
"I'm fairly new, but I've been studying this dimension, the history, this ship. It's interesting, really."
no subject
"I can imagine. Humanity, and others, actually working together and getting off their butts to go out and explore..." Bruce grinned a little. "Not something I expected, with how life was back home, but nice to see."
no subject
"And with peace Earthwide, including supposedly total disarmament." He didn't believe it - but it was interesting to see it being believed. "I would never have believed the idea to even be possible."
no subject
"Theoretically an energy field of the right frequency and power level could stop him, but whether or not we could find the frequency or generate the level of power needed is another question." Bruce's device was already working, but again, too few variables. "Does he show up very often?"
Bruce listened, then nodded. "Do you think they'll take us to Earth?"
no subject
"A great deal of unknowns - and also unknown what it would do to this ship, something not to take lightly, given it supplies the life support systems." Not that he couldn't survive it. "I've not seen him. I couldn't tell you what he looks like."
Magneto shook he head. "No. I don't. We're fairly far to begin with. And it seems the crew is trying to maintain their mission."
