TEST DRIVE #10 - Cetacean Pool and Ten Forward

Option 001. Cetacean Pool/Aquatics Lab: Of all the places in the world, you open your eyes and you find yourself in a medium-sized aquatics laboratory, filled with various living specimens along with various science officers bustling about trying to maintain order. There's much to explore here (and hopefully, in the crew's opinion, not break), but the main attraction is the large pool at the far end of the lab; enormous but tanklike in appearance, it contains several dolphins happily swimming about, seemingly without a care in the world.

Option 002. Aboard the Enterprise, Ten Forward: You have no idea what just happened. One minute you were home, and now you're on a spaceship, in the middle of a crowded room. It looks like a bar. There are people eating and drinking, some in uniform, others not. Some are clearly aliens.

You've managed to land in Ten Forward a long bar with barstools and a bartender, tables sprinkled throughout, and the far wall is nothing but windows out to space. It looks like a nice lounge, low conversation making the room hum.

Better ask some questions and find out where you are, or just tap the closest person on the shoulder and try to make friends. The bar is open.

They'd done what they could for the farm and she was just coming in when things seemed to change. The last time things changed on her had been with the ring... A very special ring that she no longer had. One that she wanted nothing to do with ever again. So when she's suddenly in a bar that holds aliens and humans alike, she stops and stares. It's not really something that can be avoided. Not when there were uniforms everywhere and people or things about that she knew nothing of. Even if she's sure this looked rather familiar but that was impossible.

"Smallville, what did you get me into this time?," she whispers to herself. When in doubt blame everything on Clark Kent.

It's not a bad creed. Even Steve Rogers has to admit that sometimes trouble has a way of following at his heels. Just don't tell Bucky he said so.

"Ma'am?" he calls, standing up and moving away from his table. Trouble or not, he's never been able to turn away when he sees someone in need, and that look on Lois' face? He's willing to bet this is her first time here. "Do you need some help?"

Ma'am? Someone was actually calling her that? She turns a bit to stare at the guy. A guy that reminded her, just a tiny bit, of a certain archer back home. Though she knows for a fact that this isn't Oliver Queen. Knows that... well, she just knows who he's not for the most part.

"You can start by telling me where I'm at," she states. Then, almost as if seeing Clark's disapproving face at the way she worded it, she corrects herself, "If you don't mind."

Steve doesn't get mistaken for many people back where he's from, so if he knew what was on her mind he might think of it as a refreshing change of pace. If he knew who Oliver Queen was, on the other hand -- well, it's just a good thing they're both walking into this a little blind.

Even without the added nicety, Steve still would have rose to his feet and politely offered to pull out a chair for her. Maybe she'll think it's presumptuous of him, but it's not exactly meant as an invitation to join him so much as it is for what he's about to say she might want to be sitting.

"Of course. You're on the Enterprise," he says, rubbing the back of his neck. "The, uh. Starship Enterprise."
