TEST DRIVE #10 - Cetacean Pool and Ten Forward

#1

Option 001. Cetacean Pool/Aquatics Lab: Of all the places in the world, you open your eyes and you find yourself in a medium-sized aquatics laboratory, filled with various living specimens along with various science officers bustling about trying to maintain order. There's much to explore here (and hopefully, in the crew's opinion, not break), but the main attraction is the large pool at the far end of the lab; enormous but tanklike in appearance, it contains several dolphins happily swimming about, seemingly without a care in the world.

Option 002. Aboard the Enterprise, Ten Forward: You have no idea what just happened. One minute you were home, and now you're on a spaceship, in the middle of a crowded room. It looks like a bar. There are people eating and drinking, some in uniform, others not. Some are clearly aliens.

You've managed to land in Ten Forward a long bar with barstools and a bartender, tables sprinkled throughout, and the far wall is nothing but windows out to space. It looks like a nice lounge, low conversation making the room hum.

Better ask some questions and find out where you are, or just tap the closest person on the shoulder and try to make friends. The bar is open.

Amy's so used to New York being...well, New York and ubiquitous, so she double-takes in turn.

"Uh..." she struggles to describe it. "Think of the biggest city you can think of. That's what New York is like."

And that? Draws a giggle out of her that she tries to dry up with a cough. "Cats can't be tamed. They have a strict kitty code," she replies.

Veena gets a little nuzzle back for that.
reincarnshaman: (Smug Smug)

I feel like this should be an actual convo between the two of them in game

"Bigger than London or Paris?" Trever asked. Because the United States doesn't exist in his world.

"They let us think they can."
makesbettermouth: (neutral)

SAME. IDK if we can feel free to link to it but I'd love it.

"I think it's about the same size as London." She isn't sure though - hasn't been, but has always wanted to go. "It's probably about as big."
reincarnshaman: (Default)

I don't see why not. :D Why restart up awesome CR?

"Cool. The largest city I've lived in is Dublin, when I was going to university," Trever said. "What do you do there?"
makesbettermouth: (Happy)

Truth!

"Dublin! It must be so beautiful there...and green. Duh!" she blurts.
reincarnshaman: (chin rubbing mischief)

"Dublin's okay. It's a bit too big for me, I'll admit. But I grew up in a small town and small city. I spent most of my time growing up in the town where my mom grew up and the rest in Tara on the Hill where my dad lives. They're not divorced - it was just considered safer for me and my brothers to live in Blackthorn," Trever said.

Then, because why not?

"Do you want to get a horrible non-alcoholic drink with me?"

"It must have been....well, not peaceful," she says, because his family sounds quite lively. "A little easier, living somewhere quieter."

She nods. "But only if they have non-terrible non-alcoholic drinks. They have lemonade and frozen cocoa in the future, right?"
reincarnshaman: (Hands together praying like)

"I believe so. I hope so. If there is a lack of lemonade in this place, I will really have to do something."

He gives her a half bow, gesturing for her to go before him.
makesbettermouth: (Enthusiastic)

"I could drink a gallon," she admits. And she really could - she does enjoy the stuff.

The gentlemanliness is noted and appreciated, and she slides ahead of him to head to the bar.
