Welcome Post | Meet & Greet
Greetings, Ten Forward!
All of November's apps are now currently being processed, so it's time once again for us to roll out the welcome mat and give a warm hello to all of our new applicants! Thank you so much for your patience over the last couple of weeks.
We're really looking forward to getting to know everyone and play with all of your wonderful characters soon. There were some really fantastic apps this month, and us mods are super excited to have you all with us. We're here as always to answer any questions you may have, so you will see some helpful links below to get you and your characters started. This space can also be used to meet, mingle, plot CR, and update other players on who you play and where their Intros are. In the words of George Takei: Oh myyyy!

☆ OOC contact and information: Now that you're here, you can hit up our OOC Contact Post to let us know who you play and what the best means of getting in touch with you are. This post is locked to members of the OOC community, and it is optional. You can leave any fields blank if you don't want that information public, and post what you're comfortable with. All of the mod contact info you may need is right over here, so don't be shy about poking us if you need anything!
☆ Game updates: We strongly recommend you join, follow, and/or track our OOC Community
☆ Getting started: You can intro your character as soon as you have your game clearance. The standard setup is to be winked into Ten Forward by Q, but you can also tag into someone else's post or enter your character anywhere that isn't in a restricted area (ie: the bridge, engineering, crew operations). If you need special arrangements—such as an immediate Sickbay visit—leave a comment letting us know.Quarantine, Sickbay, and Rooming: Your characters' first few days on the ship will involve a lax quarantine to guest quarters, Ten Forward, and the lifts/hallways between the two only, until they've passed a basic medical check and had some vaccinations. There will be an open Sickbay log posted next Friday for the checkups. After their Sickbay visits, characters will be released from quarantine, assigned permanent rooms, and allowed to move more freely around the ship. All new characters are assigned a room and a roommate by random draw. There will be an OOC post about room assignments next week, and an IC Roommate Mixer will go up next Sunday so characters can mingle. This will include a linked IC tour and introduction to the ship.

If I'm in the wrong section OH WELL B|
Hallo! My name is Amanda and yes, I am a returning player. Left a few months ago but returning refreshed and ready to play! I brought in this dork here, Laguna Loire from the video game Final Fantasy VIII and he has some history from his time in the PSP game Final Fantasy: Dissidia Duodecim 012 (they just love their ridiculous Latin, that Square-Enix XD)
In any case, I'm taking him from in between times from the original game, the characters get to meet Laguna in person when he's about 44 and somehow running an entire country as President however, we also get to go back in time to meet Laguna when he's 27 and getting into an awful lot of hilarious (and serious) shenanigans. Laguna is aware that something weird was happening and lovingly referred to the characters as "faeries". It's just as funny as you'd imagine.
Laguna is a helluva guy though. He's hilarious, a bit dorky, can't get proverbs right ("You have to expand you horizontals!") but ultimately a sweet and caring guy. And yes, he really does somehow land himself the presidential position of a technologically advanced country. I'm taking him a few years after that, when Esthar (the country) has decided to isolate itself and cloak itself and it's mostly because of the Sorceress War that had happened but also because Laguna lost a lot during that time. I won't discuss it here as it's pretty sad, but you can read it in his app!
Did I mention he has amazing friends? Because he totally does.

This is J here with my third character (how the heck did that happen?)! And I'm branching out from the Doctor Who Canon. And departing from playing my 'good guys'.
This is the Angel Islington from Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere.
It is a walking spoiler alert. (but is it a spoiler alert when the story is 20 years old???)
While It is an Angel, Islington is not a good angel. At least not any more. Being punished for the destruction of Atlantis made It a little bit bitter.
My interpretation is an amalgamation of the 1996 television series, the 2013 radio play, and the book as well. Also, as in the original novel, I will use the pronoun “It”. (//coughs// when I remember //coughs//). Other characters are free to use the pronouns he/him/his, It is not particular.

I currently have two of them in the form of Thea Queen from Arrow (last ten minutes of "Broken Arrow" when she was stabbed by Ra's Al Ghul) and Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter (late book 7 when she was saved from Malfoy Manor, I also think she was tortured by the Death Eaters). At the moment they are messes but are also game for plot! Thea's an archery instructor while Luna's the girl asking tons of questions in class (she is a Ravenclaw after all).
And since I'm curious: got a trio of ladies hopping around my brain so any interest in them before holds are made? Kristen Kringle from Gotham (during the GCPD shootout in "Knock,Knock"), Radical Edward from Cowboy Bebop (post anime and now in her early 20s, I would also be using Bryce Dallas Howard as her PB) or Violet Baudelaire from Lemony Sicket (post novels by about a year with her movie PB Emily Browning).

This is one Prue Halliwell from Charmed. She's from literally moments before Shax attacked and she died. So. There will be plenty of drama and emotions happening once she finds out Certain Things. She's a witch with her primary power being Telekinesis, secondary power of Astral Projection, and Telematerialization. She's also kick butt when it comes to martial arts like kick boxing. think intenselyobsess about things such as demon hunting and whatnot. She's rather headstrong, proud and stubborn, all of which are both negative and positive aspects of her personality. I'm Jeff, with just the one character - Sam Bowe from the Dawn of Steam steampunk novel series.
Since that's more obscure than a lot of the TV and movie sorts, the quick summary:
Samantha is from 1819. Used to being 'Sam' Bowe most of the time, without really good reasons, most would take her for a teenage boy.
Physically speaking, she's on par with most of the low-tier superhumans, with peak or superhuman reflexes, speed, senses, strength, etc. and has lived a bit over a century, traveling the world and picking up various skills.
Useful as that all is, she's still from the Regency era - so while it'd be hard to match her for, say, wilderness survival or ancient martial arts, computers and a lot of the things most folks take for granted are kind of beyond her. She's learning - but, old dogs and new tricks.
