I've been trying to get it to put out something that doesn't taste freeze-dried.

That's exactly what it is. It tastes dehydrated, and the soup is too watery - not enough fat.

And I'm not even speaking as some kind of food critic. I just expect my ramen not to taste like it came from the discount grocery store.
