TEST DRIVE #1 - Ten Forward

You know how you were standing there, back in your home world, just minding your own business?

Time to forget all about that.

Instead of doing whatever the heck you were just doing, you're standing in the middle of this very stylish, sedate barroom. Happily, you're not alone there - in fact you're surrounded by people who seem to be as confused as you are...and some of them look a little, well unusual

Now would be a great time to do....well, something. Ask some questions of the person nearest you, throw a fit, stage a coup....maybe do a little exploring? No matter what you do, you're going to be here for a very long time.

For others might call it the USS Enterprise, but for the foreseeable future, you'll be calling it home.

[OOC: this test drive's open until the next app period.]

Kim turned as her name was called, jumping up to see Adam and dragging him over. "Adam! This is Leonard McCoy. Leonard, this is Adam Park. You too huh? We were just talking about what was going on. He thinks we're dreaming. And that we couldn't have been teleported because it takes too long."

Kim hoped she was being subtle and Adam picked up on her clues. Regular people knowing about teleportation? She pretended to fidgeted with her communicator, or what looked to McCoy like a pink and silver bracelet on her wrist. Hey, Adam had the same one in black! Imagine that. "Have you talked to anyone else?" She leaned in closer to Adam. "And did you bring the math homework?" Because if they were going to be kidnapped but no one was going to try and kill them, they could at least finish their homework.

She turned to McCoy. "You're not good at math are you?"

Adam made a rather odd noise at suddenly being dragged over by the petite teen in pink, fighting off a blush at the same time. But Kim, the ever sociable one, was already introducing him and the older man with her. He did, however, pick up on her clues and nodded. "Yeah, seems like it would take a long time. Unless it's like in the movies, anyway, right?"

He smiled softly and gave a small, helpless shrug. "Sorry, no math homework. I was in the middle of getting a snack so it's probably still in my room. But no, haven't spoken to anyone else. Was hoping to find Billy or something."

That "something" he had hoped would be Alpha or perhaps even Zordon. He nudged her side. "I think math is the least of our worries right now."

Leonard powered down the drink he'd ordered, but didn't bother getting another. He listened to them talking, wondering if he'd be stuck with babysitting duty. He wasn't one, but he couldn't just let some damn kids run around and get into trouble.

Then again, they seemed to be more than what they were saying. Assuming they were from earth, appearing in the middle of a ship might be too much for most. Yet they were calm, almost, talking about math homework and finding their friends. But at least this new kid knew how to keep his damn priorities in check.

He acknowledged Kim's question with a shrug. Yeah, he was alright at math. He wasn't sure how much he would be with the homework they didn't have though. At least he didn't have to play teacher too. He was a doctor - no more, no less.

"I was suggesting that we check the ship. If there were any damn clues in this room, someone would have found them by now."

"We could always ask someone too. Maybe someone knows something. Maybe someone here got here before us."

Kim smiled at Leonard as his paternal instinct got the better of him. She liked the company, and he didn't need to know they couldn't take care of themselves. And if this was part of Rita and Zedd's plan, he might need them. If it wasn't? They might all need each other.

"Maybe the others aren't in range of whatever pulled us here. Are you seeing anyone familiar?" The teen in pink asked the older gentleman. She could only hope that the others weren't here because they were all in the Command Center.

Kim looked at Adam. Maybe they were too calm and logical. Should they be freaking out?

"Someone has to know something," Adam replied, looking around. He didn't see any of the other rangers, though. "While would complete strangers end up randomly on a ship. In space. Something that only astronauts do, as far as I knew."

Only not really but of course, no one needed to know that he and his friends have been to space before and knew what was out there. He shared Kim's look, giving her a bit a shrug. What else could they do? Freaking out wouldn't help even if it was legitimate or not, right?

He reached up to rub the back of his neck, sighing and biting his lip. Although really, he was nervous. Not quite freaking out but this was scary, regardless. They were potentially out of Zordon's range and how would the other Rangers even find them without knowing where they were?

The last thing Leonard wanted to do was parooze through the crowd and ask random people what the hell was going on. But the kids had a point. Someone had to know something. They could ask. He'd just watch and make sure no one tried to attack them. He could defend them. He had a phaser with him.

He saw Kim's smile but didn't return it. Nothing against her, he just wasn't in the mood for smiling. He did, however, look around the crowd just in case someone he knew managed to pop out of the damn air. No such luck.

"No, no one." Maybe it was better that way.

Leonard stared at the kids again. They seemed on edge. Finally, some damn normal emotion. But they couldn't keep sitting at the bar waiting for something to happen like the rest of them. If they were going to ask someone, the people that took the initiative to leave the damn room were more likely to have information. But he couldn't just drag the kids some place if they didn't want to go. Let them play leader. They couldn't be as trouble attracting as Jim. He stood from his seat.

"Are we staying to question or searching the ship?"

Kimberly probably should have been more worried, but she wasn't. She knew Zordon, and she knew the others would find them. They were the Power Rangers, and when they worked together, anything was possible. Including getting out of this mess.Besides, this wasn't nearly the worst situation they'd be in. There was food, water, and no one was trying to kill them. Over all, that was kind of awesome. Morphinominal even.

Or it would be if she could get Leonard to smile. Just a little one. Someone totally soured his milk. Or whatever it was he had been drinking.

"Let's look around. At least we can get a feel for where we are. If we're really lucky, someone will pop around a corner and yell 'GOTCHA!'. " She had a few someones in mind actually.

And maybe, while they were looking around, one of them could find a bathroom and see if they were still in contact with Zordon.

As awesome as being on some unknown ship could be, anyway.

"Searching the ship, I guess. Depending on how long we're here, we may as well get to know the place and maybe question people on the way?" Adam suggested. Man, where was Billy when you needed him? He'd probably have figured this place out already! Still, he nudged Kim a little to get her to start moving away from the bar, starting the search off now that they seemed to be in agreement on what to do.

Good. At least they were agreeing on something.

"Come on." He took the lead and walked through the crowd to the door, glancing back every now and then to see if the kids were keeping up. He wasn't a hovering parent or anything, but if this happened to his daughter...

Never mind.

He eventually did make it to the door and waited for the kids to catch up. He knew the layout of the Enterprise well enough, so he'd let the kids make the choices here. Besides, it could be a different version of that starship or even a different ship all together.
