TEST DRIVE #5 - Low Gravity Gymnasium and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprises' off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...



Option 02. Aboard the Enterprise, The Low-Gravity Gymnasium: The gym is a large room with several alcove-like sections housing the aerobics and martial arts areas, a parrises squares area, an anbo-jyutsu court, and a separate fencing room. While there is normally a zero-gravity area as well, today all of the gym is in zero-gravity conditions.

Zero-gravity can be, well, kind of weird, because it's not like a gradual loss of the pressure holding you to the floor--you may have taken the turbolifts, just expecting to take a leisurely run, or maybe work out with a treadmill to get in some cardio, but the minute you step into the gym you're floating, as is anything you might have been holding or bringing with you.

Do you freak out, start flailing and trying to swim through the air back to where you can escape? Do you make the best of it and tough it out to get your exercise in, or do you start having fun with the sudden game of weightlessness? Pick your personal scenario and have fun with all the other weightless people.

The crash was enough to pull her attention away from the window. She had only been here a few minutes and she still didn't know what to think. As she looked for the crashes source her eyes landed on the white haired boy. He looked just as out of place as she did.

Yuna walked up to him slowly with a nervous smile spread across her lips. "Are you alright?"

Jack looks so uncomfortable and out of place that Akito's heart aches for him. Plume croons from her spot by his ear, encouraging him enough that he ignores his worries and rushes forward to give Jack what he hopes is a comforting hug.

Jack jumped at the sound of the woman's voice, not at all expecting it. He turned around, holding his staff close as he looked over at the brunette. Her heterochromatic eyes were looking straight him, which meant, she could see him. But how? She was certainly old enough to stop believing in him.

Although, now that she got a good look at her clothes, it certainly wasn't something on Earth. And he'd been to nearly every culture out there.

"Y-Yeah... I'm fine. You... you can see me?"

Yuna looked up at gave the boy a weak smile. "I guess so... um... Have you been here long?"

She didn't want it to sound like a weird question but it still did.

[whereishe]

"Um... yes?" It was a strange question but then again she didn't really know what to expect here.

"Why wouldn't I?"

[frostedoverland]

"Because adults generally don't believe in people like me," Jack answered. "I'm just... a song from a folk tale, nothing more."

Older cultures had called him something else and he wasn't so obscure over there but in America? Not so much. Well, at the folklore of other cultures not centered in Europe.

The sudden crash startled Ursula back a few feet, but when she saw how little some of the others nearby had reacted she smiled to herself. Well now, this certainly had potential.

She rushed up to the figure and asked,

"Oh you poor dear, are you hurt?"

He shakes his head. "Just a few hours." Akito imagines that, since she's asking, she's probably in the same boat as him.

Jack automatically froze in preparation for the kid to go through him, despite the knowledge that said teen could see him. It was just an involuntary reaction on his part. But once he felt the warm arms, he relaxed almost immediately and sighed softly. He awkwardly returned the hug.

"Thanks."

[whereishe]

"Ah, well. I'm probably from a different place." She didn't really want to say a different world because that sounded crazy but she was pretty sure that was it.

"My name's Yuna." She smiled brightly, using her introduction to find something else to say.

[whereishe]

"Oh..." Her eyes looked back down at the floor a moment as she tried to sort through her thoughts. Why did this keep happening to her. Yuna turned her head towards the windows and let out a slow breath. "Ever been in space before?" She assumed that is where they are anyway.

[akito]

Not about to leave Jack's embrace, Akito mumbles something incomprehensible against his chest and gives him another squeeze. Plume decides to use this moment to use Jack's shoulder as a perch so she can meet the sister she's heard so much about.

[akito]

Another shake of the head. Admittedly it would be pretty cool to have been in space before, at least he gets to experience it now. "I've read a lot about it, but I've never been in space before. Have you?"

[whereishe]

"Nope. One of my friends really loves space." Her eyes look over at the stars for a moment. "It really is amazing."

Yuna didn't know if she could get used to it but then again she has gotten used to a lot of things over the years. She just felt alone again.

[frostedoverland]

"Jack Frost," He answered back, tilting his head. Yuna sounded like a name from one of the Asian countries. But her clothes certainly didn't look like it. "So, by a different place... what do you mean?"

[whereishe]

"I'm from a world called Spira." She wasn't going to lie to him about it, even though her wording sounded strange.

Yuna nervously laced her fingers together in front of her as she spoke.

[frostedoverland]

There is a squid lady rushing up to him, what.

Jack felt Baby Tooth squeak and dive back into his hood. He was familiar with a lot of spirits and creatures of the unseen world but... well, squid ladies were not one of them.

"I'm fine, thank you. I just... didn't expect to end up... here. Wherever here is."

[frostedoverland]

"A world called Spira... you mean like, another Planet?" He asked, grinning lightly. He knew about other worlds, although he didn't think he would ever go. But Bunny told him some stories and the Man In the Moon was certainly not a native to Earth.

[whereishe]

She placed her palms together with a tentative smile. "Yes." Yuna saw his smile and took it as a chance to widen her own. It was nice that he wasn't so surprised. Maybe her own world was one of the few out there that didn't think about other planets.

[unfortunatetolls]

"Oh I do know what you mean. I was just minding my own business and suddenly poof here I am."

She smiled slightly to herself.

"Still, it is an interesting bit of magic. I would just love to know how its done."

[frostedoverland]

Jack had to wonder how she was even out of the water and doing fine. Obviously, she had a set of lungs that worked outside of water but even dolphins need water too.

"But aren't you... I dunno, going to be okay not being in any water?"

[frostedoverland]

"What's it like?" He asked, reaching behind him to gently tug Baby Tooth out. She flittered past him, rubbing her tiny hands together nervously. "This is Baby Tooth, by the way."

[frostedoverland]

Baby Tooth peeked out and smiled widely, the two of them instantly beginning to chatter. Jack looked up and smiled a little at that. "How did you get one of Tooth's fairies with you anyway? They're usually pretty reclusive."

[whereishe]

"It's a great place, filled with lots of magic." It was the easiest way she could describe Spira and though it didn't say much, she liked it.

Her eyes focused on the little fairy flying in front of her. "It's nice to meet you Baby Tooth." She felt her smile widen and her cheeks redden at the sight of the adorable little fairy.

[akito]

"I was trapped in a different universe for a few years." He pulls away just enough to be able to explain things, planning to stick to Jack until he's pushed away. "A different multidimensional hub, of sorts. I lived with Tooth for a year, and a few of her fairies stuck with me so she would always have a way to know if I was in danger."

Akito doesn't think it would be a good time to mention his relationship with... him. The last thing he wants is Jack to feel obligated, or try to push him away. Just being friends again will be good enough for Akito, even if he'll always hope for more.
