TEST DRIVE #6 - The Bridge and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...

Option 02. The Bridge: Well, aren't you a lucky duck? You've found yourself in hallowed quarters. Wherever you were before, you're not there anymore. Now you're in a room that could be some kind of command center or control room; there's a captain's chair flanked by seats for his chief officers, computer panels and stations at each interior wall, and before you a broad viewscreen that shows the wide expanse of space rushing towards you. Have you ever wanted to be a starship captain for a day? Well, here's your chance. Feel free to roam around, but try not to touch anything shiny.

[OOC: The Bridge isn't usually available for in-game posts, so if you've ever wanted to play there, here's your chance!]

Aqua | Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

[personal profile] dancing_waters 2014-11-27 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Aqua held a glass of water as she looked out into the stars. It... felt so different, she thought. She wasn't sure what it was but something told her that these stars were not the same as the ones from home. From what little she learned so far, these stars were not worlds. They were, essentially, like the sun. They brought light to other worlds. She never saw these stars though, whenever she had visited other worlds.

It was all so strange. Even this place, this ship. It reminded her of the ship she landed on while on her journey, meeting the Grand Councilwoman and Experiment 626. A lot less colorful, but the Enterprise was still a ship in its own right. But what was she doing here, was her main concern. She would always be grateful for not being in the Realm of Darkness any longer, but she wanted to leave and help find Terra, to help Sora and his friends. What good was she on this starship?

She reached into her pocket and pulled out her Wayfinder, a glimmer of sadness on her face. "We'll be together soon. Ven. Terra."

Lafiel had approached the woman from behind and hadn't realized that she wasn't Abh until she was too close to be missed. She quickly had to invent an excuse for speaking to her. "Are you all right?"

It was a stupid question, but Lafiel was still learning how to handle people, especially those who didn't know who she was. And especially those who weren't Abh.

Aqua jumped a little, not usually caught off guard like this. She pocketed the lucky charm and turned around. She nodded the other woman, smiling slightly. "Just missing my friends, it's nothing to worry about. Thank you."

'I suspect that's true for all of us," Lafiel said. "At least, those of us who were brought here against their will."
dancing_waters: (You don't hear me say)

[personal profile] dancing_waters 2014-11-28 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"I see, is that what happened?" She asked. Aqua knew it had been an outside force that brought her here, but she hadn't quite realized it could be a specific individual. And, really, she was glad to be out of the Realm of Darkness, so she supposed she should be grateful.

But she also needed to be careful, someone with that kind of power could easily be full of darkness, just like Xehanort. "Do you know who it was?"

'I've heard things. Nothing I believe, but I don't have a better answer." Lafiel didn't have the mental framework to consider 'sufficiently advanced alien'.
dancing_waters: (But does that mean)

[personal profile] dancing_waters 2014-11-28 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"And what is it that you don't believe?" It was better than having no answers, Aqua felt. She supposed she could always find the captain of the ship and ask as well. But to even find the captain was going to be interesting. The ship alone was quite large, possibly even larger than the one with Experiment 626.

"Something about an alien being so powerful he can bring people here on what is, effectively, a whim," Lafiel said. "If eh's so powerful, why bother with us?"
dancing_waters: (Lately you're all I need.)

[personal profile] dancing_waters 2014-11-28 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Curiosity," She answered easily enough. "Those with power, or those who think they have great power, push the boundaries. They want to see what will happen, if for no other reason that simple curiosity."
ungrounded: Lafiel annoyed (annoyed)

[personal profile] ungrounded 2014-11-28 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Very irresponsible of them," Lafiel said. Of course, she'd been born to power -- a royal family where any sufficiently determined and skilled member could become Emperor or Empress -- but of a nation whose narrative included the subtle refrain that others would not accept their existence, so any ruler must tend to her people first.

Lafiel understood power often meant privilege, but she didn't equate that with the ability to mess with people. Of course, she'd seen other nobles who were less principled about their vassals. (And those who weren't vassals, if they thought they could get away with it.) She didn't think highly of those nobles either.

There's someone else watching the stars, knowing that they're different from home but recognizing them for what they are too. No, they're not worlds but bright lights, and they're only a reminder of how far he's gotten away from his original mission.

Sora turns to find something to eat, maybe, or to return to his room, when he notices a girl with blue hair only a table's distance away from him. And when she pulls something from her pocket, well ... that charm looks so much like the one that's currently tucked away, protected in the pocket of his (some might say overlarge) pants that it's hard not to stare.

He can't help but notice the sadness on her face too, because it's a little like his own sometimes. Something to do with missing his friends and wanting to find a way back home.

Back to Riku. Back to Kairi.

"Hey." He closes the distance. "You okay?"

Aqua turned at the voice, jumping lightly. But then, her eyes widened at just who she saw. "Sora?"

Last she saw him, he was about five years old! Then again, given what the man in the Realm of Darkness told her, many years had passed. And she knew he was out there fighting the Darkness, continuing on what Aqua and the others had failed to do. What she failed to do.

"I... yes, I'm fine," She ended with a small smile. Sora had gotten so big!
aeroga: (huuh?; caught off guard)

Oo-kay.

Sora, who has always worn his emotions on his sleeve, frowns in confusion.

"Huh? Do you know me?"

And maybe a better question: Do I know you?

There is something weirdly familiar about her, something about her blue hair, even, but he'd mostly attributed his sense of familiarity to the charm and her sadness and nothing more than that.
