Room & Roomate Assignments and Shuffling!

The latest list of rooming assignments for August is going up shortly. All new characters are assigned a room and a roommate by random draw. This means if you have special requirements or considerations, you should leave a request in a comment HERE with your character journal. (Some examples would be: if your character has a spouse or SO they would prefer to be roomed with; your character is unable to share quarters because of their physiology/temperament; and the like. If you're bringing in a high-ranking Starfleet officer, you may be assigned VIP quarters. IC, the Enterprise crew would be sure any important officers would have the best rooms, but OOC we don't want you to miss out on building CR with another character, so all officers will automatically be treated the same as other characters unless you tell us otherwise.)

At this time, we're also shuffling up the rooms for characters who have lost a roommate due to a character drop or need a reassignment for any other reason. We'll do this approximately quarterly as new characters shuffle in and old ones shuffle out. If you would like to switch up your rooming situation, this post is your chance to drop us a line and let us know. We'll either put your character into the random hat and pair them up with a new roomie by dice roll, or if you have a special consideration like those listed above we'll take them into account.

Shuffling is totally optional, so if you don't make a request to do so then you will stay right where you are, no muss no fuss. To reduce confusion, below the cut is a list of everyone* who's being assigned a roommate this period because they are NEW or because of a DROP. If your character isn't on the list and you think they should be, just let us know!

Kirk and Sam Wilson were moved to Deck 8, room 0142; Hugh Cambridge and John Crichton were assigned 0144.


Please note all given names as they appear above will be how they appear on the IC roommate list, unless you tell us otherwise. Let us know if the crew should know you by another name!

We'll have a finalized list posted by Saturday, but if we have overlooked anything, adjustments can continue to be made until the IC mixer goes up on Sunday. Our finalized list is up under the cut! After Sheppard leaving, Mr Grumpy here would prefer to not have a roommate. And while I do love to subject him to things he doesn't like, with how swamped I am at the moment, can we let him live alone for the time being? Unless the ever marvelous lt colonel makes a return...

Alec and Trever should not be roomed together. I play them both for starters and I don't want their paths to cross.

Harry Dresden will be thinking to request a room with his sort of kind of now girlfriend as soon as he sees the list, so can we already put that in motion? Character name is Inari Raith, and the player is in accord with me.

Since this month's assignments were already done by the time you asked, and the IC Mixer has gone up, the assignments Inari and Harry received are their IC assignments until the next time we do a shuffle (which I believe is what you wanted, since it sounded like Harry's reason for asking for a reassignment would only happen because he saw her name listed with another roommate).

Because they are SO's, assigning them a room is fine, but it will have to wait until the next time we shuffle so that no one loses their roomie without getting a replacement. :)
