Game Plot! Alemar III Team Assignments are a GO!

We had 48 different characters sign up for our first ever game plot. WOW! With Enterprise characters joining in to keep things organized, that gave us an even 50, which the mods have split into ten teams.

We did our best to make sure everyone got their first or second choice based off the forms you filled out on the plot announcement post, with a tiny handful of characters getting their third choice. If you did not sign up for this plot in the allotted amount of time, you will not be participating; however, you may of course continue to make posts for your characters on the Enterprise throughout the duration of the plot.

Arriving at the drilling/mining facilities on Alemar III: After the initial away team bring the scientists down to the planet (off-camera: that is, without needing to be threaded), guests will be invited to tour the facilities. IC, this will be presented as a short shuttle ride down to the planet, and a few hours looking around the facilities and mines. An arrivals post will be set up "party post" style, where our NPC Dr. Johanna Sk'Amor will give everyone the "tour", and all characters can threadhop and interact as they go from room to room. Every room will be covered, so your character should end up in the area where they are assigned. Once your character has checked in there and all the pieces are in play, the first earthquake will strike, decimating tunnels, closing off entrances/exits, and taking out important technology. Whoever is with your team is the only contact you now have.

Helping in the Mines (Team #4) You have been trapped in the main room of the underground mining facility. Additionally, you can hear the cries of people who have been trapped in cave-ins. Your team is:

Fighters (Team #9) You have been trapped in a large room in the underground facility. You can hear the cries of your trapped friends in other caves, but suddenly a monstrous figure appears... Your team is:

>> Rescue Mission : Heroes (Team #10) You stayed back on the Enterprise, but it's suddenly all too clear that something on the planet has gone horribly wrong. You must shuttle down and assist the first group in whatever way you can. Your team is:
  1. Deanna Troi
  2. Trance Gemini
  3. Zinda Blake
  4. Amanda
  5. Bucky Barnes

Each team's objectives will be sent in a group e-mail shortly following this post. As the plot stretches out over three in-game days, your group's objectives may change from one day to the next, but will all follow the common theme you signed up for (IE: If you signed up to be a hero/fighter, you may spend day one battling the Crystalloids, while on day two you work to dig out your trapped friends). Members from the Rescue Mission will be split up once they arrive on the planet to help one of the original 9 teams.

Mod/NPC involvement will be minimal, to allow groups to work together with the details they're given to complete the plot they signed up for (IE: if you're working to Discover the Truth as team #3 or #4, you must discuss the clues you're given with your teammates rather than an NPC so everyone has a chance to chip in and help). The mods will be available OOC at all times to answer any questions or troubleshoot unforeseen problems.

In the event that a team leader is needed to organize the rest of the group, the character listed as #1 in each group has that role by default (these characters are either Starfleet officers or expressed leadership skills/desire in their sign-ups). In the event that you have a character who needs privacy to "change" forms, such as morphing into a superhero alter ego, the caves should be spacious and detailed enough to allow for phone booth transformations (IE: ducking into a corner, and suddenly a hero appears!). While most teams are completely cut off from each other, there will be events wherein teams may collide (IE: both Engineering teams start out in the same room, and will be able to communicate; once team #1 has fixed the entrances/exits and elevators, they may move to a different room to assist any wounded or trapped). Clear instructions will be given to your groups in your plot e-mails.

Before objectives are e-mailed out to each team, please take a moment to review your assignment and make sure there are no conflicts. Teams were arranged to have an even number of strengths (IE: a leader, a helper, a victim, a healer, etc), so please do not change the role you originally signed up for. If you have any other questions or concerns, now is the time to let us know! Check the original questions thread to see if yours has already been answered, and drop us a new comment if not.

Plot kick-off is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, July 25th in the US, with a rain date of Saturday morning if there are problems between now and then. Happy plotting, everyone!
