TEST DRIVE #6 - The Bridge and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...





Option 02. The Bridge: Well, aren't you a lucky duck? You've found yourself in hallowed quarters. Wherever you were before, you're not there anymore. Now you're in a room that could be some kind of command center or control room; there's a captain's chair flanked by seats for his chief officers, computer panels and stations at each interior wall, and before you a broad viewscreen that shows the wide expanse of space rushing towards you. Have you ever wanted to be a starship captain for a day? Well, here's your chance. Feel free to roam around, but try not to touch anything shiny.

"I don't think you can just say that."

The voice comes from Kira's right side. A man, human-looking... And you could have sworn that he wasn't there a second ago.

"I think a lot of people would have something to say if you tried to take this ship."

"Oh?" A single syllbal, but one that, combined with her arched eyebrow, amused smile, and teasing tone, says more than enough. It's a look and smile that's turned to the man who most certainly had not been there before. She doesn't jump, not when she's only just appeared herself, in a rather unexpected way. Although that's something on her list to find out about. How exactly she got here.

But after. It's a question that can wait, for the moment, because she has an audience. One she's not quite certain of. He's not necessarily opposing her, which is good for his sake. And easier for her.

"Resistance is to be expected. Saddening, of course, but to be expected. If I'm where I think I am, then the Terrans here have a lot to learn about their proper place in the order of things."

"Resistance is to be expected," The man comments, in a tone that is fully agreeing with Kira's statement. "However, there are hundreds of people that call this vessel home. I've noticed that people tend to get a bit protective over places they call home."

Is that a condescending tone? Surely not. Orlin's tone is as neutral as ever, yet there seems to be an air of "holier-than-thou" smugness to his all-around demeanour.

"Besides, there are higher forces at work, and I doubt they'll let you interfere with their fun."
