TEST DRIVE #6 - The Bridge and Ten Forward

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...

Option 02. The Bridge: Well, aren't you a lucky duck? You've found yourself in hallowed quarters. Wherever you were before, you're not there anymore. Now you're in a room that could be some kind of command center or control room; there's a captain's chair flanked by seats for his chief officers, computer panels and stations at each interior wall, and before you a broad viewscreen that shows the wide expanse of space rushing towards you. Have you ever wanted to be a starship captain for a day? Well, here's your chance. Feel free to roam around, but try not to touch anything shiny.
[OOC: The Bridge isn't usually available for in-game posts, so if you've ever wanted to play there, here's your chance!]
Intendant Kira Nerys | Star Trek: Deep Space Nine | Option 02
A little chuckle- a giggle, almost- escaped. She stepped forward, her movement smooth, practiced, as carefully designed to catch the eye as it was natural and instinctive, and one hand reached out. Fingers skimmed down along the curved railing as she followed the line of it, her sweeping gaze taking in the full sight of the place. It was a bridge, surely of a Federation ship, judging by the crew, and it was a lovely bridge. So much in fact that;
"But I think I'll take it nonetheless."

He has the spots of a Trill, faded slightly, as though the genetics were diluted slightly, and he looks up, frowning slightly, showing the pitch black eyes of a Betazoid, betraying the other half of his genetic makeup. On his collar are two golden pips and one black; the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
His eyes find the Indendant, and his frown deepens as he steps forward. "Excuse me, ma'am... Can I help you?"
no subject
"Oh you just might, at that. I don't suppose you'd like to tell me where I am?"
no subject
"Of course. This is the Federation Starship USS Enterprise. I'm afraid you've been brought here by a being known as Q."
He can sense her attraction; being half-betazoid allows him that much... But he can't tell if she's attracted by him or the ship itself. Perhaps both?
"If I could ask you to come with me? The bridge is restricted access, by the Captain's orders."
no subject
"You can certainly ask. I might even accept. That depends on exactly where we'd be going. I've never been on the Enterprise before!"
no subject
"Guests brought here by Q are quarantined to Deck 10 and surrounding areas until Sickbay can run a few standardised tests. Once done, you'll have access to the entire ship, barring any restricted areas."
He gives the rundown speech expertly, professionally.
"Unfortunately, the Bridge is one of these areas."

So he's there as the Kira from the other side appears, in a flash of light, and he almost immediately steps backwards.
"Oh bloody hell!"

But this- this isn't that Julian. Not with that uniform, that sharp look to him, the backstep and curse. Oh no, this is something far more entertaining. Especially considering what he owes her.
"Well look what we have here. Julian, it's been so long since we last met. What a pleasant surprise."

Right now, she was the outsider, not him. He had all the advantages, the only thing she could do to him was try to play her mind games. The only threat she posed to him was with a phaser.
He wasn't about to allow himself to be toyed with again.

Her tinkerer. Her Benjamin. Her self. Losses that had led to an eventual rebellion, losses that had led to far too many other losses. Oh no, Kira Nerys' little friend had cost her dearly. Too dearly. And now- here he was! Gift wrapped for her, practically, on a beautiful ship on the other side that she had already decided to take for her own, in time.
"Shouldn't this reunion be cause for celebration?"

But then Kira appeared. Or rather the other Kira. She'd never had the privilege to meet her but she ---okay, Jadzia, there goes those pronouns again, had been at the staff meetings. It was odd to think that there was another her out there. What was she like?
"Um, I think the Captain might have something to say about that." It was better than 'you and what army'. Every time someone said that someone showed up with an army. And she was pretty sure the Intendant's army was really, really scary.
no subject
"But that won't stop me. I have a habit of getting what I like, no matter who or what stands in my way. And I think I'd like this ship."
Because the things a ship like this could do- just a glance around the bridge was enough to grant all kinds of opportunities. If she could get it back home...
Well, it, and-
"I might also like the daring, beautiful officer standing before me. The one brave enough to try and stand up for her ship?"
no subject
"Oh, you know what. It's actually not my ship. I'm not even supposed to be here. And actually, neither are you." Although Dax would take great pleasure in watching Worf escort this woman -- who was not Nerys-- off the Enterprise's bridge. It was kind of fascinating from a psychological standpoint though. Given the right situation, the right upbringing, could this be Nerys? Okay, not now Ezri, focus on the scary Intendant, you can think about talking to Kira about her possible narcissistic tendencies later.
"Why don't I show you around? Ten Forward is great this time of day." As is the brig.
no subject
"You're right; I'm not supposed to be here. I'm supposed to be on Bajor. But this- this is so much better than Bajor." She could bring this back to Bajor with her, a new jewel in her crown, the rightful return of the Bajoran Sector's Intendant. She would bring this ship back with her, and then whatever lies Garak may have whimpered into the Regent's ears would fall flat in the face of her victory. And until that happened? This was certainly better than hiding on her homeworld. The things she could learn here, on the other side...
"So what about you, my dear thing? I know where I'm supposed to be. Where are you supposed to be, if not here?"
And where, exactly, was here? She would need to learn the name of her new ship, before she claimed and rechristened it as her own. Eventually, she would learn it.

The voice comes from Kira's right side. A man, human-looking... And you could have sworn that he wasn't there a second ago.
"I think a lot of people would have something to say if you tried to take this ship."
no subject
But after. It's a question that can wait, for the moment, because she has an audience. One she's not quite certain of. He's not necessarily opposing her, which is good for his sake. And easier for her.
"Resistance is to be expected. Saddening, of course, but to be expected. If I'm where I think I am, then the Terrans here have a lot to learn about their proper place in the order of things."
no subject
Is that a condescending tone? Surely not. Orlin's tone is as neutral as ever, yet there seems to be an air of "holier-than-thou" smugness to his all-around demeanour.
"Besides, there are higher forces at work, and I doubt they'll let you interfere with their fun."
Have a power ranger :)
And now it looked like Andros was going to have to apologize for probably wrecking Captain Picard's bridge.
"I really don't think so."
He's cute. Can she keep him?
Maybe less 'boy' than she might have initially thought. And entertaining, with a tone like that. She liked entertaining Terrans. She tended to let them live longer.
"You don't? I can't imagine why not. I've only just arrived, and I can already see that it's a lovely ship. She would make a beautiful prize, the pride of any fleet. Tell me, what's her name?"
She can share with Ashley. I'm sure that would go over well :D
"Why should I tell you? You're doing a great job of playing make believe all by yourself. I wouldn't want to ruin your fun." The ranger quipped back.
Andros side stepped, placing himself at an angle to the woman. And the woman, well, he knew that look. That was the look Ashley gave him when they first met. It was a little uncomfortable. He wasn't quite sure how to deal with it then and he still wasn't sure how to deal with it now.
It's okay, she'll just claim Ashley for her own too. ;D
She kept her gaze pinned to him, watched as he shifted. Turning where she leaned against the railing ever so slightly, to remain facing him. He was bold. And amusing or not, she would keep an eye on him.

That was a face she hadn't expected to see--she looked different somehow, between the makeup and the headband and the uniform that was absolutely nothing like anything she'd ever seen Nerys wear.
"Nerys...?"
no subject
She turned, a cheery smile on her lips, a bright air about her, to evaluate the source of that call- and then her eyes widened at the face that greeted her. A young woman, beautiful, and- her features! Half Cardassian and half Bajoran? Ooooo, now this could be interesting, given the history of this side's Bajor. That Nerys hadn't mentioned this young woman; which was a shame, given how lovely she was.
Now the real question was... how to greet Nerys' beautiful, young friend. She would start out simple.
"Yes?"
no subject
Finally, Nerys would've said her name in response, she was sure.
She'd never heard of Nerys' accident, being sent to the other side. She didn't even know that the mirror world existed. She certainly didn't know what to make of this woman who looked like her dearest friend.
"It...it is you," she says blankly, simply unable to think of anything else. Because it was, and yet it wasn't at the same time. Prophets, it was strange.
no subject
"And it's not."
There was a light laugh, almost a giggle, and she straightened.
"I am Kira Nerys. Just perhaps not the Kira Nerys you're familiar with."
