Hello, Ten Forward!

How are you all today? All of April's apps have been reviewed and are being processed now, so we at Ten Forward want to give a warm welcome to all of our new applicants!

We're SO excited to have you all with us, and we're looking forward to playing with you and getting to know you. Us mods are here as always to answer any questions you may have, so consider this your official welcome mat! Below is some helpful info, and this space can also be used to meet, mingle, plot CR, and update other players on who you play and where their Intros are.

• IC Intros/OPs: Your Opening Post can be where and when you prefer, as long as it isn't in a restricted area (ie: the bridge, engineering, crew operations). If you'd rather tag someone else's post to establish your entrance, that's totally allowed. The standard setup is to be winked into Ten Forward by Q, but if you need special arrangements—such as an immediate Sickbay visit—leave a comment letting us know.
  
  
• Life On Board: Your characters' first few days on the ship will involve a lax quarantine to guest quarters, Ten Forward, and the lifts/hallways between the two only. The medical staff will need to see them to clear them of disease and log their bio reading for future medical attention. Afterwards, they'll be assigned more permanent quarters and a roommate (unless there's a reason they cannot room with someone else), and be able to wander the civilian areas of the ship more freely.
  
  
• Sickbay: On Friday, we will post an open sickbay log to play out any new character's checkups (as well as facilitate any plot, such as asking Dr. Crusher if you can volunteer to help), but it is not required if you would prefer to handwave your character checking out and getting the all clear from the docs aboard. If your character has any special medical conditions, let us know. If you have any other requests, leave a comment. Once your character has been cleared medically, they'll be released from the initial quarantine (of Ten Forward and the guest quarters only), assigned permanent rooms, and allowed to move more freely around the ship. Restricted areas are, of course, still off-limits (such as the bridge, engine rooms, conference rooms, etc). This is especially open to new applicants, but should anyone need to visit Sickbay remember it is OTA!
  
  
• Rooms: We will be assigning all new characters a room and a roommate by random draw. This means if you have special requirements or considerations, you should leave a request in a comment HERE with your character journal. Some examples would be: if your character has a spouse or SO they would prefer to be roomed with; your character is unable to share quarters because of their physiology/temperament; and the like. If you're bringing in a high-ranking Starfleet officer, you may be assigned VIP quarters. IC, the Enterprise crew would be sure any important officers would have the best rooms, but OOC we don't want you to miss out on building CR with another character, so all officers will automatically be treated the same as other characters unless you tell us otherwise. We'll post an OOC list of characters getting roommate assignments this week, and an IC Roommate Mixer will go up next weekend so all characters can meet and mingle.
  
  
• Plot/CR: April's plotting meme is located here, or you may leave a comment directly to this post if you're looking for any particular plots or CR for your character. Tag around other people's requests and make some new connections.
  
  
• Join/Update the OOC Cast list: If you're new to the game or you have recently changed your character roster, visit the Contact Post to let us know who you play and what the best means of getting in touch with you are. This post is locked to members of the OOC community, and it is entirely optional if you would rather not post your information anywhere. Please note: if you're not comfortable with giving out certain info (like e-mail addresses or SNs) but still want to be represented, not all fields are mandatory. Leave any fields blank if you don't want that information public, and post what you're comfortable with. Nobody's privacy will be compromised.
  
  
• State of the Game Post: Last month, we posted a State of the Game post (locked to comm members) going over some ideas we have for taking the game forward and seeking feedback. We're planning on closing the post over the weekend, so please feel free to check in on it and give us your thoughts!

Hey all!

JK here, one of your friendly neighbourhood mod team, and the one most likely to be around at weird other side of the world hours, because I am Australian! In the real world, I'm a librarian with an ancient history background. I work full time and my job is extremely busy right now so I'm a little run down and slow on the tag front lately, but I'm really looking forward to playing with you all!

I'll be the first of the newbies to jump in here. I already did an intro but I'll do it again. Hiiiiii. I'm Holly and I'm bringing in this lady, Doctor Carolyn Lam from Stargate: SG-1 in.

I live in New Mexico, so I'm on Mountain Time but I'm on and offline throughout the day and night. So ummm... I need more coffee and can't think of anything interesting to say. I probably will once I press post comment. Oh well.

I'm Kippur and this is Alec. He's an OC with a very long and convoluted background, more of which can be found on his journal. But he's very friendly and most of the time comes off a bit like a demented budgie: perky, bouncy and scatter-brained with a tendency to chew on things. Okay. Kidding about the last part.

Personally, I am a writer that lives in Los Angeles with a cat named Chaucer. I love chatting with people about stuff and if anyone wishes to do so or has questions about Alec himself you can catch me on AIM at kippurbirdy most evening.

I'm Ash and I've been here for aaaaages, although I took some time off due to school (where I'm studying librarian-shaped-things) and am still somewhat slow with it.

But when I'm not drowning in homework, I have a mini-stable of redheads because once you have a theme, run with it? It makes me laugh, anyway

Natasha Romanoff (MCU, fallaces_sunt): former KGB operative, former freelance con-artist, thief and assassin, currently with SHIELD attempting this whole 'redemption' thing. In-game, has a unicorn dog called Spike Velikan courtesy of Captain America, and is studying all the languages she caaaan.

Gaila (AOS/NuTrek, writes_with_digital_ink): computer geek who never quite managed to graduate Starfleet Academy thanks to a certain troubled Romulan with a revenge problem. Fortunately in-game she was rescued by Q juuuust before her ship completely blew up around her. Former slave in the Orion Union, current Federation idealist.

Annie Cresta (Hunger Games, treadswater): victor of the 70th Hunger Games, not as mad as she seems on tv (although still an anxious mess). Comes across as shy and sweet, which she is, except everyone not her fiancé Finnick forgets that she also has years of training for the games rattling around her brain and reflexes. But mostly, shy.

Hello all! My name is Ami. I've been here since sometime last year but within the last few months I've tried to be more active. Mostly cuz I not have a job where I work at a computer lol. But YES! I'm friendly though easily excited and would love to meet all!

I play Yuna from Fanil Fantasy X-2 plus previous game experience. Lately she's been about trying new things and learning about new places. Plus magicy stuff and training which is always fun when you can change your clothes at will... yeah, it was a weird game.

Now I also play Ellie Who just got accepted. I'm excited to see her freak out which is what her intro post is currently doing. Any who want to deal with a snarky/bratty/emotional baggage of a fourteen year old this is your girl. She's cool though and supper strong and happens to have a virus in her which I image can't end well when the sickbay log goes up.

I've been thinking about bringing more muses as my free time increases but for now I have these two. I tag pretty quickly and I'm always good for plotting, back-tags and hand-waving stuff.

HI!I'm Chicklet, I'm insane... but don't worry, it's the fun kind.

I play Agathat Heterodyne from Girl Genius - A Spark (Insanely gifted inventor) who is overjoyed to have parts readily available, and people who want her to do things. She's friendly, and often cheerful and genuinely willing to drag anyone along to help her build things.

I also have Kaylin Neya - a beat cop in her own world with an aversion to magic, and more magic than she cares to have herself. She has a sharp temper, no sense of direction, and a foul mouth.... but she also has the worlds biggest soft spot for kids.

And speaking of kids, have Primrose Everdeen from Hunger Games, moping around at the moment, and discovering, thanks to both members of Kamen Rider, a passion for various kinds of pasta.

Yoooooo, I'm Amber and I play Irian t'Aumne, who is an OC based on a crossover between Star Trek Online and Diane Duane's Rihannsu series of Trek novels. She's Romulan, but not the Romulans you'd be familiar with from canon if you're into the shows. I won't go into a huge detailed explanation; if you're curious about her AU, I've done up some info in her journal.

Harry Dresden, dresdensluck, from the Dresden Files books, He is wizard, hero, Knight, and the last hope for those who have nowhere else to turn.

Merlin, themerlin, from Mythology, in particular the poem Merlin by Robert deBoron, ancient mischievous wizard, shapeshifter, busybody, and kingmaker, he gives new meaning to the term genderfluid.

Remy Lebeau, callmegambit, from Marvel Comics, former thief, X-Man, and jack of all trades, Remy plays games except when lives are on the line.

And introducing Thor Odinson, thepowerofthor, from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the Valar insanejournal game, he is an actor, a God, an alien, and a man who will stop at nothing to experience new things.
