Greetings, denizens of Ten Forward!

At some ridiculous hour of the morning, all apps were processed through with only a few exceptions pending minor edits. We have quite a few new players joining us, so we wanted to officially welcome everybody and let them introduce themselves if they're so inclined.

• Leave a comment telling us who you are and who you play, leave your preferred means of contact if you'd like to keep in touch with other players, and tell us of any plots and plans you're hoping to accomplish while here.
  
  
• We're often a silly bunch, posting such things as OOC Dance Parties and weekly "Food For Thought" posts which encourage thinking up wacky scenarios for your characters that can either be just for fun, or fodder for future game plots. If anything confuses you, please feel free to ask about it, or just jump right in! It's a great way to get to know each other and all the characters in the game. (A new Food For Thought just went up this morning, so check it out here! What would your character be like if they were in a pageant?)
  
  
• Questions about OPs? Your Opening Post can be where and when you prefer, as long as it isn't in a restricted area (ie: the bridge, engineering, crew operations). If you'd rather tag someone else's post to establish your entrance, that's absolutely fine! We encourage everyone to tag around and make sure every post gets a little action. We're still a new, small group. The standard setup is to be winked into Ten Forward by Q, where much confusion will ensue but where anyone and everyone can tag you. However, if you need special arrangements (ie: if your character is going to freak out and needs to be subdued by Security or a familiar face [canon mate], or if they're coming aboard injured), we're more than happy to work with you! Leave a comment asking for the setup you'd prefer, or contact one of the mods to make sure it's okay. I'm aware that there are a few characters this app period who will need special considerations, so we're here for you! If your character is from the Star Trek universe and already aboard the Enterprise (without needing to be 'winked' aboard), you may set up your OP in whatever fashion you choose and let us know if you're available to help newcomers adjust to their new surroundings; however, as per the game rules, don't change or affect ship operations without mod approval. We'll be happy to give it as long as you ask us! Feel free to use this post to toss your hat in and plot with other people.
  
  
• Your characters' first few days on the ship will involve a lax quarantine to guest quarters, Ten Forward, and the lifts/hallways between the two only. The medical staff will want to see them, to clear them of any nasty diseases they might be carrying and log their bio reading for future medical attention. After they're cleared, and it's established they mean no harm to the ship or the rest of her passengers, they'll be assigned more permanent quarters and a roommate (unless there's a reason they cannot room with someone else), and be able to wander the civilian areas of the ship more freely. Arrangements to play all of this out can be made by request. Just assume the quarantine will last three days at least before your character is free to move about, and if your character is seriously ill it may take longer. To request a room and roommate, please leave a comment here with your character journal.

Huge Star Trek fan here! Very happy to see Janeway. I loved Voyager, but I haven't seen it in quite some time. I look forward to seeing your Janeway around the ship.
