Hey hey, Everyone!

All of our December applicants are in the process of being ... well, processed! Thank you all for your patience, as you know it's been a busy month. We'd like to take a moment to roll out the welcome mat, get to know all our new players and muses, and give you all a very warm hello! We're really looking forward to getting to know everyone!

To get you newbies started, your mods are here as always to answer any questions you may have, so you will see some helpful links below. This space can also be used to meet, mingle, plot CR, and update other players on who you play and where their Intros are. Oh myyyy~!

☆ OOC contact and information: Now that you're here, you can hit up our OOC Contact Post to let us know who you play and what the best means of getting in touch with you are. This post is locked to members of the OOC community, and it is optional. You can leave any fields blank if you don't want that information public, and post what you're comfortable with. All of the mod contact info you may need is right over here, so don't be shy about poking us if you need anything!

☆ Game updates: We strongly recommend you join, follow, and/or track our OOC Community ten_fwd_ooc. It's the best way to stay up to date with the game and any announcements from your mod team as soon as they happen.

☆ Getting started: You can intro your character as soon as you have your game clearance. The standard setup is to be winked into Ten Forward by Q, but you can also tag into someone else's post or enter your character anywhere that isn't in a restricted area (ie: the bridge, engineering, crew operations). If you need special arrangements—such as an immediate Sickbay visit—leave a comment letting us know!

Quarantine, Sickbay, and Rooming: Your characters' first few days on the ship will involve a lax quarantine to guest quarters, Ten Forward, and the lifts/hallways between the two only, until they've passed a basic medical check and had some vaccinations. Due to the holidays, our next Sickbay log is TBA. After their Sickbay visits, characters will be released from quarantine, assigned permanent rooms, and allowed to move more freely around the ship. All new characters are assigned a room and a roommate by random draw. There will be an OOC post about room assignments this weekend, once all pending apps are completed, where we will announce when the IC Roommate Mixer-slash-Holiday Party will go up. This will include a linked IC tour and introduction to the ship.

☆ Plotting and CR: December's plotting meme is located here, or you may leave a comment directly to this post if you're looking for any particular plots or CR for your character. Tag around other people's requests, and make some new connections! Plotting/CR Memes typically go up the last Monday of every month, as do announcements for next month's plots/events and a log swap meet.

☆ Mod Announcements: You can follow mod announcements using the admin: mod post tag here in the OOC comm. Our last announcement can be located here, have a look at your earliest convenience! Please note: AC will run January 10th - 23rd, but all December apps will be exempt until the next AC period.

Uh, hi everyone! Welcome to Ten Forward! I'm Gabby, one of your friendly neighborhood mods. I hail from the EST US timezone (GMT-5), and my availability is a bit all over the place but I'm usually around for late night tags. I'm always up for stuff, and love interacting with new and different characters!

I have apped a new boy this month, so everyone say hi to Special Agent Pete Lattimer (hey_heyhey, Warehouse 13)! Pete is going to delight in making everyone's lives a little more funky. He's also pretty sure you're all some kind of weird artifact, so get used to that for a while. My other muses are Steve Rogers (stark_spangled, MCU), Kate Barlow (ikissdhimbck, Holes), Amy Pond (and_she_waited, Doctor Who), John Crichton (never_felt_better, Farscape), and I also currently man some of our crew: Captain Jean-Luc Picard (tea_earlgrey_hot), Guinan (she_listens), and Geordi La Forge (mr_laforge)!

I missed last month's post I feel so bad!!!!

But anyway, I'm JK, and I'm so excited to meet you all! Some things about me: I'm an ancient history nerd by training and a librarian by actualfax job IRL, which keeps me busy (and sometimes braindead). I'm Australian, so GMT +10 and make that +11 since we're in DST at the moment. Best way to get in contact with me is my plurk, where I ramble and squee and talk endlessly about The Hunger Games at ashavah.

In-game, I am currently in charge of this roster of sillies: Jonas Quinn (a_quick_study from Stargate: SG-1, Simon Tam (osirian_doctor) from Firefly, Dylan Hunt (dreams_dont_die from Andromeda, and Finnick Odair (fishermansweater) from The Hunger Games. Finnick's the loud one >_<.

I've had an awful year IRL, so I've been slow as treacle with RP lately, but, I wanna meet you all and do all the stuff. Okay? Okay. Come at me?

I'm Jack, and I'm bringing in Kuvira (this crazy lady) from The Legend of Korra and Sterling Malory Archer (tactlenecks) from Archer. I've known Gabby for a few years, and got roped into the game by her a few months ago!

(Okay, she didn't rope me into anything, I just really missed playing with her.)

I used to play over at Milliways Bar, but I'm coming into this game with a new cast of characters. I lead a very active lifestyle, so if I'm slow responding to your tags, fret not! I'm probably just out biking or at the gym crushing some freeweights.

I think that about covers it. Can't wait to play with y'all!

I'm Khajidu and I'm bringing here a Jem'Hadar from Starfleet! Olan'atar is a Star Trek OC and he's the first Jem'Hadar in Starfleet. He serves as a Lieutenant in security on his ship and, by Odo, he knows his history! He'll recognize quite a few crewmembers here!

Anyway, this is not my first game! I played another OC in a sci-fi game (but it didn't work out) and Odo in another (but the game closed after a few months). This is my first Star Trek game, though!

Looking forward to playing here!

I am Gann and I am new to the game. I've considered it tons of times but here I am at last, bringing you Clara Oswald from Doctor Who. I have taken Clara from a highly spoilerrific point in her canon, but if you are at all in the know or know people in the know you might... know? So I apologize if you don't know and don't want to know and learn it through threading. but yes... i am taking her from the last eps in Series 9 :D!

Clara is the 12th Doctor's Companion, smart, brave, foolhardy, daring and sassy, but does tend to do what he says (mostly). She's also a really nice person! I could explain her better, but other than saying she is the Impossible Girl, I got nothing at the moment. Mostly cus I am brain dead.

THAT said, me. I'm a Doctor Who/Marvel/TMNT/Coheed & Cambria/MCU/Coulson/Hellboy/Star Wars/Harry Potter/Etc kind of girl who is currently battling a sudden foot infection, which is to say I am sicker than a dog at the moment and a bit worried that I will land in the hospital during Christmas week... SO, I might hold off a moment introing Clara, maybe. We'll see how I am feeling this weekend.

Its Morgan (aka Thea Queen and Luna Lovegood's puppet master) and this time around I come bearing the resident archivist of the Gotham City Police Department Kristen Kringle (hailing from the Fox series Gotham AKA Batman before he was Batman). She's coming in during the GCPD shooting in "Knock,Knock" when Nygma slammed her out of the path of bullets. So she's going to be skidding across Ten Forward's floor when she gets winked in (aka the injury list: she has a wrenched back, trashed knee that might need surgery, twisted ankle, a very mild concussion from landing against a table and a sprained wrist plus a ton of bruises and broken glasses).

So plots while I work on her E.P and find the gif I saved of the scene she's yanked from? She needs everything from someone in medical to find her (mostly due to her knee and maybe talk her into the future version of lasik eye surgery?) to friends and maybe a non creepy love interest (yes her luck is that bad)?

*also drops hints for her canonmates: especially seeking Bullock or Gordon for a line idea*

And question: if she does get the surgery it was suggested on Plurk she could get glasses that interface with the computer to both start her on a new path and to explain icons of her with the glasses, is that still a reasonable option? (I have dug and no icons exist of her actress without glasses)

As always Thea and Luna are also fair plotting game!

I play this Idiot of a Doctor (Twelfth) from Doctor Who who will be undergoing a canon update sometime after Christmas. Currently. he's at the end of "Last Christmas".

I also play cridhe from Doctor Who Who is a fleshy TARDIS (AU). All information about her can be found in her journal. She's from the Doctor's distant future, so she's always current with canon, though she's really not spoilery.

Finally, breaking from Doctor Who, I play the Angel Islington unfallen from NeverWhere. Since there are subtle differences between the book, TV Series and Radio Play, I play It as an amalgamation. Additional details are in Its journal.

I think that's it. I'm about to be on Christmas Break, so I'll be bored out of my mind the next week or so, so hit me up for threads!

Hi guys. I'm Yubsie and believe it or not I have held off on apping a third character... for now!

I play Yoda, who comes form some sci fi thing no one ever talks about. He's a CRAU from exitvoid which means, among other things, he sometimes still wears a little sailor suit to mess with people. Also someone should try to convince him to sign up for an English grammar class.

I also play Ishka from Deep Space Nine, aka Quark's mom. She spends most of her time on board really hoping they're not going to Ferenginar because she lived through it once dammit.

I’m Bree, and I have a couple muses mucking about the Enterprise. First is one Siri Tachi (neverlosemyfocus), Jedi Master extraordinaire from Star Wars – the Expanded Universe, to be exact. Whose canon point is her death at the end of the book ‘Secrets of the Jedi’; although before she technically died. Q is like that. SO SHE IS SCHRODINGER’S JEDI. The other is an original character by the name of Zoey Westen (pythianwoman), who is a gymnast, swordswoman, seer, and general trouble magnet. Who’s also dating H.G Wells from Warehouse 13.

I’m a huge Star Wars/Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries/Lovecraft/The Librarians/The Mummy series fan who has recently fallen headfirst down the Flash/Arrow/Constantine rabbit hole. And I have a HUGE love of AUs. Like, seriously. There’s a list and everything. Several lists, actually.

Hello hello! I'm Paul, I've been here for a few months (I guess that's oldbie-ish relative to the nominal timescale of OOC meet&greet posts?) and the only character I have here currently is a gen2 OC from Zone of the Enders, so I am probably the trashest in here.

Come poke me though if you are thinking of a Zone of the Enders character as if anyone else remembers Zone of the Enders or want to bounce someone off of scifi military people orrrr other things!

I play... wow. A lot here. I have:

Kaylin Neya on this account. Snarky, sharp, prickly, magic hating magic wielding beat cop who will never turn down a free meal and who changes completely when there is a child around.

Agatha Clay Heterodyne from Girl Genius. Aggie is Sparky and insane and energetic and kind of wonderful. She'll grab your wrist and drag you off and sweep your character up into whatever chaos she has in mind. Things tend to explode around her, but really, at heart, it's just... a blast!

Ro Laren - Ensign Ro Laren, currently 12, because Q is a troll (or, you know, I am) and pulled her from the end of Rascals when she's the only one still a child.

Ayesh from Ashes of the Sun (My favorite published fiction novel. If you know it, I will follow you happily and share candy). She's very much focused on control and mastery. It's hard to get to her heart, but she's got a lot to share, and she makes characters think. And she thinks about them.

Ailyshia and Theorn are OCs from the Black Jewels Trilogy. She is a Black Widow Queen (for those of you who don't know the series, that means she is a sharp tempered female magic user who attracts male protectors, has ability to see the future/see the hidden truths, is good with plants, and excels in poisons.) He is a Demon Dead Warlord Prince (he needs to drink blood and/or blood wine every day, sunlight drains and hurts him, wounds are more permanent, and he is an over protective pain in the tail.) She hates males, he is determined to protect her. It's a lot of fun to get between them.

Primrose Everdeen is Katniss' younger sister from the Hunger Games. Unfortunately, she saw Katniss taken from her, by Q, and has been spiraling into depression ever since.

I also will be apping one more in, probably next month so.... yeah. >.>

Hi Mouse! I'm Morgan and have a trio of ladies floating around. Kristen Kringle (Gotham) has her own comment as my newest so here's the other two.

Thea Queen (Arrow) is from the last 10 minutes of "Broken Arrow" when she was stabbed by Ra's Al Ghul (a couple of months before she becomes Speedy in canon but pre pit so none of the bloodlust related fallout is a factor). At the moment she's mentally a wreck and in recovery from not exactly eating or sleeping in the better part of a month.

Luna Lovegood (HP) is during book/movie 7 when she was saved from Malfoy Manor. I'm also into the idea she was tortured by the Death Eaters. She's basically a kooky teenage witch in recovery from her demons (the bulk she's still working through) but with a huge heart in spite of everything.

I can totally send either of them to Henry's EP if either of them strike you? Otherwise all 3 are fair plotting game!
