Hello August Apps, and welcome to Ten Forward!

By this point we only have a few apps left pending, so we wanted to roll out the official welcome mat and say hello to all our new players. We're all looking forward to playing with you and getting to know you, and we the mods want to be available to answer any questions you have. We'll be popping in on all your intro posts, but we also wanted a handy official-type welcome up so everyone can meet, mingle, and be sure their questions get answered.

Our last few Meet & Greet posts cover some basics, like what's the deal with these "Food For Thought" posts, how we handle IC intros/opening posts here, what your character should expect when arriving, and a who's who of players and their muses. We'll go ahead and repeat some of the important basics:

• Intros/OPs: Your Opening Post can be where and when you prefer, as long as it isn't in a restricted area (ie: the bridge, engineering, crew operations). If you'd rather tag someone else's post to establish your entrance, that's totally allowed. The standard setup is to be winked into Ten Forward by Q, but if you need special arrangements leave a comment letting us know.
  
  
• Life On Board: Your characters' first few days on the ship will involve a lax quarantine to guest quarters, Ten Forward, and the lifts/hallways between the two only. The medical staff will need to see them to clear them of disease and log their bio reading for future medical attention. Afterwards, they'll be assigned more permanent quarters and a roommate (unless there's a reason they cannot room with someone else), and be able to wander the civilian areas of the ship more freely.
  
  
• Sickbay: A sickbay post may be arranged to play out the new character's checkups, but it is not required if you would prefer to handwave your character checking out and getting the all clear from the docs aboard. If your character has any special medical conditions, let us know. If you have any other requests, leave a comment.
  
  
• Rooms: We will be assigning all new characters a room and a roommate by random draw. This means if you have special requirements or considerations, you should leave a request in a comment here with your character journal. Some examples would be: if your character has a spouse or SO they would prefer to be roomed with; your character is unable to share quarters because of their physiology/temperament; and the like. If you're bringing in a high-ranking Starfleet officer, you may be assigned VIP quarters. IC, the Enterprise crew would be sure any important officers would have the best rooms, but OOC we don't want you to miss out on building CR with another character, so all officers will automatically be treated the same as other characters unless you tell us otherwise.
  
  
• Plot/CR: August's plotting meme is located here, or you may leave a comment directly to this post if you're looking for any particular plots or CR for your character. Tag around other people's requests and make some new connections.

The current game plot: You may be wondering how the current game plot will affect your IC Intros. We've covered that here. We also have a number of really lovely OOC Intros floating around the comm, so scroll back and have a look. If you haven't made your own Intro post, leave a comment here telling us who you are and who you play, leave your preferred means of contact if you'd like to keep in touch with other players, and tell us of any plots and plans you're hoping to accomplish while here. Or, if you'd like something a lot more laid back, how about an OOC dance party? We do these every once in a while to share fun links, silly ideas, music and geekiness, so come cut loose with us! It's still brand new.

All right, let me start us off. Hello, everyone! My name is Gabby and I'm one of the Mods here in Ten Forward. Hi I'm Beth. I have one character here from the last app round, Andrew McKee ( just_be_quiet). I am really fond of creating new settings and just general world building.

I should warn you that I live in the same house as two of our other players. We tend to plot shenanigans.

My plots:

Andrew I want him to bond with an adult at some point. After the plot is wrapped up I'd like to see Andrew start to trust the adults more.

Also: if Andrew ends up in sick bay due to his asthma I want him to beg one of the medical staff to bring him Bernie.

Marion will be hosting a poker game at some point. She will also be very unhappy she was yoinked by Q. I plan on her alerting the medical staff about her werewolf status pretty early on. She's going to be pretty serious on making sure no one gets hurt because of her.

Anyone want to be involved in that?

Hey there, folks. Name's Ben. I'm a St. Paul boy in my mid-20s. Essential facts haven't changed since the last meet-and-greet. Autistic, Vikings fan, Evertonian, Jon Pertwee Recipe Book devotee.

Here at Ten-Forward I play as the Waco Kid from Blazing Saddles (waco_jim), Leela from Doctor Who (janisthorn) and Rygel from Farscape (heliumfart). I occasionally bring the Nerevarine from Morrowind (moonandstar) in on a test drive/sandbox basis. I'm already playing him elsegame, but I wanted a chance to play him further ahead in his canon.

I also have a few others over at milliways_bar: Along with Leela, the Waco Kid, and the Nerevarine, I've got Kane from Command & Conquer (closesecond), Caius Cosades from Morrowind(oldsugartooth), and Sheogorath from the Elder Scrolls series generally (sithis_shaped).

I'm a big fan of a few franchises - Doctor Who and Farscape are a couple of the big ones. But the one I'm the biggest fan of - and the one I come closest to having encyclopedic knowledge of - is the Elder Scrolls franchise. (By the way, did you know there are spaceships in TES? Hello hello folks! My name is Chris. I'm from the Seattle area, although I am originally from southern California. I'm diabetic and ADHD Type I (formerly known as ADD). I'm 27 currently, although my birthday is in October.

At Ten Forward, I play The Doctor. Well, specifically, I play the 8th Doctor, the Doctor who is simultaneously the least and most pervasive Doctor in the Whoverse. he is least if you consider screen time, most if you consider the expanded bits (and I totally do)

I'm aslo a big part of another RP group known collectively as the Legacy Tales, which has games for DC, Marvel, Next-Gen equivalents for both, and several other games attached to the whole thing.

Part of what drew me here was the fact that I grew up on TNG. Quite literally. One of my earliest memories involving television was watching the Enterprise split in half and then fly at a big gray square thing with shiny bits coming out of the top part. But the thing is, when I get into a Fandom I tend to jump in face first. This is how I got into (including, but not limited to): Star Wars, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Doctor Who, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Leverage.

I'm JK and I'm pretty much one of the biggest dorks in the universe. Long story short, I'm Australian, so wacky timezone and slowtiming, but I am SO excited to play with this month's new people.

I'm here at Ten Forward with a crew of blue eyed tragic boys, some of them rather obscure: Jonas Quinn (a_quick_study) from Stargate: SG-1, Jack Harkness (captgreatcoat) from the Whoniverse, Simon Tam (osirian_doctor) from Firefly and no we won't call you Captain Dylan Hunt (dreams_dont_die) from Andromeda.

Most of them are planetside in plot right now (though Kaylee kept Simon on board the Enterprise). But I can't wait to meet you all and play with you!

I'm Amanda, and I captain Deanna Troi of the USS Enterprise crew, as well as play BBC Robin Hood's Lady Marian (queenofmay), Farscape's Aeryn Sun (do_your_duty), and Doctor Who's The [10th] Doctor (thelasttimelord). All of my characters are totally available to be threaded with anyone, to varrying degrees of success (*cough*Aeryn*cough*), and would be incredibly glad to meet you and help you settle in.

I am on aim as JGPhoenix, and bounce in and out of the chatroom from time to time, though crazily less than the first months, but can be found in various states of hilarity/rambling/plotting/squeeing on plurk at wanderlustlover pretty much every day lately. Hii everyone! And to the new people, welcome to the game!

As previously said in my OOC post, I'm Jen (though we do have another Jen, so I also go by 'Zelly' if there's any confusion!) and I have two new people this month to add to my roster. From Doctor Who, I play Rose Tyler (defendergirl) and Rory Williams (rorypond); from Spider-Man fame, I will be playing Peter Parker (spideys); and from Almost Human, I've got Detective John Kennex (likeavirtue).

Currently Rose and Rory are involved in game-plot things, but once that's done, they're definitely up for CR opportunities. Rory helps out in the sickbay every month (and whenever he's scheduled a shift) so if you need a friendly, knowledgable nurse, he's more than happy to help you out.
