Test Drive #7 - Ten Forward and Captain's Yacht

Option 01. Ten Forward: The first thing you see is a bar. A large, lively bar filled with many different faces and many different smells, sights and sounds. This is Ten Forward, the Enterprise's off-duty lounge; feel free to get acquainted with your fellow travelers and try to find somebody who's in charge: this is your new home now, after all...





Option 02. The Captain's Yacht: Oooh, you sneaky stowaway! You've found yourself in a very exclusive part of the ship: Captain Picard's personal craft, used for short jaunts when a shuttle just won't do. (One must retain some decorum, after all.) It may not be as large as the Enterprise itself, but there are sure to be some surprises aboard once people start snooping.


[OOC: The Captain's Yacht is located at the very base of the Enterprise's saucer portion, so if you put someone in there you can also play them trying to get back to somewhere they know!]

"I have no clue where Paris is, but...why would I care about clothing or shoes?" she asked, so confused.

Yeah... Theiorn was no coward, generally, but all the same he was glad to have a valid reason to leave. His speed as he did so could not...quite... be called fleeing.

"Paris is the fashion center in my world. And from what Adrienne tells me, good clothes is what makes a woman a proper woman. Though, I think she says that so that I'll buy her all the shiny things she wants."

He's long since resigned himself to using his unlimited credit card on his wife. He also manages to intentionally not notice Theiorn's hasty exit. Sometimes a guy just needs to take an excuse to leave a lady.

She makes a noise that is a whole lot like HARRUMPH. "Whatever a lady chooses to wear is feminine, and whatever she does not choose to wear is not necessarily so. Why are men so obsessed with the wardrobes of women?" she asked, and it was clearly an old complaint from her, one she could be pleasantly grumpy in, though the first bit sounded more like she was repeating something she heard time and time again. Came from serving in Lady Sylvia's court.

Theo holds up his hands. "Adrienne is the one who takes me shopping. I could care less what she wears as long as it makes her happy. She just likes fancy clothing."

He does notice the parroted bit, but still says nothing.

"So long as I am dressed, I have little care what in," she said primly. "It needs to be comfortable and suit the situation," she said. "Nothing more, nothing less," she said primly.

"That sounds like Grace. She is very practical when it comes to clothing," Theo says. Though he also has a feeling that she wouldn't be too happy to be dressed in rags or jeans and a tee-shirt. He could be wrong, but that's the feeling he's getting.

"A sensible witch," she said, nodding.

[deadmanbusiness]

"Yes. That is quite true about her. She is quite sensible. I don't think your friend would like her very much though. Beyond the fact that she'd break him in half."

[the_blood]

"now I really want to meet her," she said, amused.

[deadmanbusiness]

"I'm sure she'd love to meet you," Theo says. Leaning forward, he then asks, "Might I ask a question of you?"

[the_blood]

She leaned back a bit, and looked at her ring finger, idly. "Ask, Prince, though I may not answer."

[deadmanbusiness]

Such the princess.

"Your friend. What is he? He's not alive and he's not unlike any undead I've ever met before."

[the_blood]

She was startled. Not what she was expecting. "He is demon dead, Prince. You do not know from the demon dead?"

[deadmanbusiness]

"Demon dead. No, I can't say I've ever heard of that before." Theo manages not to smirk at her surprise. "We don't have demons on my world."

[the_blood]

"Then... what happens when someone dies too strong to rest?" she asked, confused.

[deadmanbusiness]

"They become ghosts," Theo says. Which are quite different than the demon dead, apparently.

[the_blood]

"And those too strong to be ghosts?"

[deadmanbusiness]

"They become stronger ghosts? Wraith's maybe."

[the_blood]

"Never heard of a wraith," she said, as Theiorn came back with a tray laden down with enough food for four people, easily. He set it beside her, then took his seat again, called in a goblet and a bottle of wine that smelled like blood. The smell of blood was stronger when he vanished the bottle and created a flame, and spun the goblet over the flame, rotating slightly. He then proceeded to ignore it, leaving it to heat.

"They're a more substantial form of ghost. My mother is one. We were in an accident when I was eight. My father didn't get there in time to prevent her from dying, but he was able to anchor her to this world so she wouldn't move on. It allows her to interact with the world," Theo explains, watching Theiorn do his thing with blood and fire.

"How did you do that?"

"How did I do what?" he asked.

"Did she want to move on?" she asked. Both looked at him oddly for different reasons.

"How did you pull that goblet and wine bottle out of nowhere?" Theo asks. And then, "I honestly don't know. I was eight at the time and in quite a bit of shock when it happened, broke my arm among other things. And afterward... well neither my father or mother ever talk about it."

He has a feeling that his mother wanted to go on, but his father made her stay. His father is a very strong and possessive person who has a hard time letting go. Apparently when his first wife died giving birth he tried to keep her alive by hanging onto the spark of her life, but eventually had to let her go.

"I just called it in," Theiorn said. "It's basic craft."

"Called it in from where?" This is fascinating.

[the_blood]

"My... personal storage..." he said slowly, as if he was trying to figure out why someone was asking a question he's never had to answer before.
