Good evening, Ten Forward!
The game is rapidly approaching its 1 year anniversary, we've just cleared through a fresh month of apps, and soon we'll be starting April apps. This seemed like a good time for us mods to check in with the game, post a few reminders, and announce that we'd like to implement some positive changes in the coming months to meet the demands of the game's growth as well as the plot dynamic. Because of this, we'd like to have a State of the Game discussion here in the OOC comm next Thursday where we will highlight some of the suggestions you guys have brought to us, some of our thoughts and fixes, and open the floor up to you guys to tell us what you think. Because all of our members mean so much to us, it's important we know what you're thinking before we add or change anything, so don't worry about the game changing overnight. Our mission statement and premise will stay the same.
What is that mission statement? Ten Forward has and always will be a "a pan-fandom role playing game whose mission is to combine all the best features of journal-based RPG in a safe playing environment where all are welcome." Our primary goal as your mods is to make sure everyone feels safe, welcome, and appreciated, in a low-stress environment where we can all have fun around our busy lives. While we work to make the game better and more engaging, we assure you that we listen to each and every one of you, and take your personal needs and concerns into consideration for every decision we make. We hear you, and we pay attention. So we will always strive to make Ten Forward fun, stress-free, and a place where everyone can play. We promise that will not change. It's also important to remember that Ten Forward is a wank-free zone. This is for fun, and while we all feel passionately about our characters and their stories, it's important we remember that whatever may be going on in the game should never spread into hurtful or mean comments elsewhere. If anyone is having problems, that is what we're here for. Please do not ever make mean-spirited remarks about another player, whether by name or as a general remark. We do take notice when this happens, and if we see it becoming a consistent problem we will talk to you about it. The bottom line is not everyone has to get along, but everyone should be treated with respect and kindness.
We'd like to thank everybody who has given us suggestions and input over the last three months. As we've made the transition into the new mod team, it's taken a while for us all to hit our stride and find that elusive common availability between time zones, so everyone who has left suggestions in our suggestion box, contact page, or contacted us directly has 100% been heard and we so appreciate knowing your thoughts! We want everybody to feel comfortable approaching us whenever you have a question or a problem. We don't bite! We also can't help if we don't know what's going on. Please, never feel shy or bad about contacting us, it's the only way we have of keeping on top of things and making sure everybody is happy. So here are some of those links, for anybody who may have misplaced them:
We'd love it if all of our members could check in on our State of the Game post next Thursday and contribute with your thoughts. This is no pressure, but the more we know about what you guys would like to see happen this year, the sooner we can make it so! (Yes, pun intended.) Why wait till next week? Simply so that we have time to answer everybody who has already contacted us, and add their thoughts in. If there is something you have been curious or concerned about that you haven't told us about, or seen mentioned elsewhere, please drop it in the comments or use one of the above links. We want you guys to always, always feel comfortable coming to us.
That said, stay tuned for more updates this weekend! We have a few plot announcements in the wings, more info about new rooms, and some long-overdue updates coming your way. Thanks, everyone! As always, let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

So here are some of those links, for anybody who may have misplaced them:
▶ THE MOD CONTACT PAGE. Please feel free to use our mod email address or comment directly to the page if you need to get in touch with us, or if you prefer to contact one of us individually, all of the ways you can do so is listed here. This page is linked in the OOC comm sidebar as well as both profile pages.
▶ SUGGESTION BOX. Our Suggestion Box is locked to members of the OOC comm only, and is linked in the OOC comm sidebar as well as the OOC profile page, and can be found under the "admin: suggestion box" tag. As it looks like a few of our members missed the announcement that we had one, we have also added a link to it from the IC comm profile page, the mod contact page, and we will add it to our monthly OOC Welcome Post/Meet & Greet so new players will also know where to go to find the link. Please feel free to use this post anytime to offer suggestions — many of the smaller changes we've implemented since December have come from suggestions left here, so we do check in and we do listen.
▶ MOD E-MAIL. The quickest way of reaching us is always by e-mailing us directly. We all check this account, so we will all see your questions and comments as they roll in. We also have a MOD PLURK if you prefer to send pings or PPs to us, but you can all feel free to friend each of us individually on Plurk, AIM, or any of our other means of contact. We will friend you back! We're here not only to help, but to get to know you and build some fun CR.
