Apps are now OPEN for the December period!

Apps will remain open until Midnight EST (GMT-5) December 8th (that's Monday going into Tuesday in the Eastern US). Apps are now CLOSED for December! Reserves will re-open Friday December 18th!

To app with us:

1. Read our rules for apping.
   
   
2. Once you've completed your application, leave a comment here with your name, e-mail (note: if you are apping more than one character, you MUST use the same e-mail for all of them; this is partly how we keep track of character limits and who plays whom), the character you're apping, and a link to your app. You may also leave any special requests or remarks, as comments will be screened. Here is a template you can copy&paste:

3. After the mods have approved your application, you will be asked to join the community with your character journal and comment on the cast list. Once that is complete, the mods will make your app official. You can not make posts to the community until these steps have been completed.

Player Check-In (AC)

Ten Forward has a bi-annual Activity Check, once in January and once in July. Because so long passes between each AC, Ten Forward's players have voted for a monthly activity Check-In. No additional proofs of activity are required, this is simply to show that you are still an active member of the community.

Why do this? Because sometimes Real Life gets in the way, and we lose track of a game. Some players forget to visit the page to drop a character or put them on hiatus, and their casts are left wondering what happened to them.

So what are the requirements? Just let us know you're still alive! We have provided a form for you to fill out and drop in the comments section below. Ten Forward is designed to work with players who have busy lives, full-time jobs, full-time studies, and so forth; it's okay if you can't play for a while, so long as you meet AC every six months. We just want to make sure you're still with us.

What are the consequences of missing a Check-In? If you have not filled out a hiatus request and you miss two Check-Ins in a row, the mods will contact you to make sure you are all right. If you have not responded or participated by the third check-in, we will put your characters on a warning list and give you one additional week to check in with us. If you have not done so by the end of that week, we will consider your characters as being dropped from the game. Remember, no proofs of AC are required, you simply have to let us know you're still here.

Our Next Activity Check is January 10th through the 23rd. If you need a place to keep track of your AC, you may add your links to your comment but this is not required. You can also keep track by using your game tags or downloading a thread tracker for your character journal. Remember: we require three qualifying proofs of activity evenly spread out across your active time in the game since your last AC.

Rooming Assignments!

Our latest list of rooming assignments for November applicants is here! As we did a CR shuffle this month, we have created a new section for family-sized suites on Deck 8 adjacent to other guest quarters. According to what we've dug up under Enterprise specs, family suites are basically the size of two normal-sized rooms pushed together, typically 2 bedrooms joined by a family room (like how we've laid out guest quarters so far). This design is usually for two adults and their children. We'll be updating our FAQ and Info pages relevent to rooms on board to reflect this new provision for characters with families aboard the ship, but in the meantime please feel free to ask us any questions and review the image below (as an example of what a suite would look like).

Now, on to this month's assignments! If we have overlooked anything, adjustments can continue to be made until the IC roommate mixer goes up. That is currently scheduled for Thursday to give everyone time to review their new assignments.
