Our latest IC New Passenger Orientation + Roommate Mixer is now up in the main comm, but with a bit of a holiday twist! Read on under the cut for the skinny.

Don't forget that it is the end of the month, and that means: Reserves will be CLOSING and Apps will be OPENING tonight! In light of the holiday, we'll be opening apps an hour early at 11pm EST (GMT-5), and we'll leave them open until January 8th! You are not required to reserve with us in order to app, but it does help the process along.

A New TDM? If you're looking to test a voice out before making a commitment or need someplace to put a writing sample together, last month's Test Drive Meme is STILL OPEN! Please make a note to check the post for new potential applicants with fresh threads, and feel free to use this post until January ATP runs near the end of the month. We will have a fresh TDM up for the new year then.

Remember, ten_fwd_meme posts fresh memes every Monday now, so if you haven't been watching the comm feel free to stop by and participate! There's no deadline on any meme, particularly not the most recent Love Memes, so if you were away and feel like you may have missed your chance, banish the thought! There's always time for more love.

If there is a meme you would like to see the comm do, we have a suggestion box set up for just that purpose. Anyone can post to the comm with their ideas. Since it's the end of the year, we'll be due for a new HMD and handwaved CR meme coming up pretty soon, so keep an eye out for that and more things to come!

AC Reminders: AC will run January 10th – 23rd, which will be the Sunday following apps. If you are unsure of what the AC requirements are, take a look at our AC reminders post from our last activity check. All proofs of activity must be in posts dated after July 25th to qualify. December applicants are exempt from January AC.

Because of AC, there will be no Check-In tomorrow. Our next Check-In will happen March 1-7. If you have any questions at all, please let us know!

Apps are now CLOSED for the January

Apps will remain open until Midnight EST (GMT-5) December 9th (that's Friday going into Saturday in the Eastern US). Reserves will re-open Monday, January 18th!

To app with us:

1. Read our rules for apping.
   
   
2. Once you've completed your application, leave a comment here with your name, e-mail (note: if you are apping more than one character, you MUST use the same e-mail for all of them; this is partly how we keep track of character limits and who plays whom), the character you're apping, and a link to your app. You may also leave any special requests or remarks, as comments will be screened. Here is a template you can copy&paste:

Hello, Denizens of Ten Forward, and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone, whether you've already passed midnight or are waiting out the last few hours like me!

I'm here to let everyone know that at around Midnight EST John is going to be throwing a party in Room #0144 over on Deck 8. What kind of party, you ask? I am so glad you did! As you might have guessed, it's a New Year's Eve bash + All Night Movie Marathon! After meeting a number of people on the Enterprise who are unfamiliar with such classics as "Die Hard," "A Christmas Story," and "When Harry Met Sally," John has come to the decision that an education in movie history must be had. It just so happens that a certain former car named KITT has an extensive library of movies saved on his hard drive.

I'm leaving this totally relaxed, party post style with top-levels for different movies and party events, so people can wander in and out and tag where they feel like it when they feel like it. It's TOTALLY OTA. I mean, John's going to prop the door open and tie balloons outside and entice people to come in, so even if your character hasn't met him they are completely welcome to come inside. I'll also take any suggestions anyone may have for movies, snacks, themes, etc for the party. I know this is kind of last minute, but I hereby dub this party open forever, by order of the court of royal space doofuses.
